JWs in a frenzy!
by leaving_quietly inanyone else get the distinct impression that jws are being worked up into a frenzy with all the changes and activity nowadays?
by the end of august, there will have been four campaigns inside of a year.
one last november, a memorial campaign, a convention campaign and an advertise jw.org campaign.. then there's the conventions with all the hooplah around that with all the video, and the aggrandizement of synchronized gb talks.

Anyone else get the distinct impression that JWs are being worked up into a frenzy with all the changes and activity nowadays? By the end of August, there will have been FOUR campaigns inside of a year. One last November, a Memorial campaign, a convention campaign and an advertise JW.org campaign.
Then there's the conventions with all the hooplah around that with all the video, and the aggrandizement of synchronized GB talks.
Then the new KH fund arrangement, which most JWs see as a good thing.
Then there's the constantly updated content on jw.org, including videos for little kids.
Then there's the comment about being ready to obey strange instructions.
The list can go on and on.
I feel like I'm the only person who sees this for all hype and frenzy over nothing. Am I alone in this? Why can't JWs see this for what it is? I was a little tyke in the 1975 era, so I don't know what it was like then, but I suspect it was pretty similar to what it is now.
Jesus said, "Keep on the watch." He didn't tell his followers to go nutty about it.

Don't You Think It's Odd That "Jehovah" Was Invented By A Catholic Monk?...
by minimus inand that jehovah's witnesses are proud to use that name?.

Their argument is "Jehovah is the mostly commonly recognized English translation; No one gives us flack for using "Jesus" instead of "Yehoshuah", so why give us flack for using "Jehovah" instead of "Yahweh"?
I think it is a reasonable argument. Names are translated just as any other word is.
The simple reason for giving flack is because they make such a BIG DEAL about RESTORING God's name in the Bible, even going so far as to insert it into the Greek scriptures where THEY THINK it's supposed to be. If they are going to restore God's name, then RESTORE GOD'S NAME!!! Don't give it a half-baked effort!!!!
Edited to add: Those who cry out the loudest will get the most attention. JWs are the ones bringing this upon themselves because they cry out the loudest that they, and only they, have the truth, and that they, and only they, use God's name, and that they, and only they, BEAR God's name. Just saying... the flack is well-deserved.

New instructions in the new world will have to be embraced by all for survival
.
.
.
Today we are being trained to obey new instructions.
Ahhhh, I see how it is. Start obeying now, folks, cause they have already started ruling! They're making up new instructions now, and not waiting on Jehovah. That's the way it sounds to me. Tell me if I'm reading it wrong.

Why in the world would the article call out the religion? Seriously, I think JWs make it a point to let other people know their religion. How else would the reporter have known. Really, what difference does it make if they were JWs or not?

There must have been so many "WTF" moments yesterday.
The religious leaders of that time, very versed in the law there teaching became so unscriptural they became a burden to the people. (WTF??? How about teaching that men cannot wear beards? Or that we MUST go to ALL the meetings and only if we're SO SICK that we cannot attend is it acceptable to miss? Or that one CANNOT ask questions without being viewed as SPIRITUALLY WEAK, and possibly / probably SHUNNED? What about teaching that EVERY SINGLE HOLIDAY is a SIN, even when there is NO PROOF of such in modern times (think Mother's Day and Father's Day)? What about burdening children with being ostracized because of not being able to celebrate birthdays because the organization bans it for NO GOOD REASON?)
Matthew 23:2. Religious leaders of Jesus time compared to today. Hide Jehovah's name from the people. Take gods name out of many translations of the bible. (WTF??? Let's list all the translations that actually DO have God's name. What's with the fascination with this topic? Hey Watchtower, how about you use God's REAL name, not some name made up by a Catholic monk?)
Heavy loads on people. hellfire teaching. Not refreshing. Many people fed up with BTG. (WTF? Hellfire is a heavy load? How about 7.9 billion people dying at armageddon just because they don't believe JWs? How about heavy loads of constant meetings, field service, assemblies, conventions, and special events? Talk about HEAVY LOADS!!!!!)
Palms 115:17-dead don't praise Jehovah. Dead people most unhealthy people on earth. (WTF??? Who comes up with this stuff?)
Reading this is just making me angry. Ugh.

The adjustment to the "third heaven" is welcome as their previous explanations were dodgy, at best. However, it's still not right, I think. But, what is interesting is that they finally call this paradise "heavenly". The word "paradise" is found in the Bible four times. Once in Solomon's love song, and three other times, each of which imply paradise as heaven.
Jesus' promise to the criminal next to him in Luke 23:43.
This third heaven in 2 Cor 12:1-5.
The paradise of God in Revelation 2:7.
None of these links the word "paradise" to earth. I wrote a personal article for my personal research about this just yesterday.
