Hehe, funny.
Like "paradise earth", the phrase "Jehovah's Chariot" is also not found in the Bible.
someone mentioned "jehovahs chariot is on the move" on another topic and i immediately had flashbacks to those articles where they tried to explain how a chariot could have wheels that went in every direction and also had eyes, something idiotic.. i had a chuckle because the image that then popped into my head when i thought about those wheels going every direction was not one of those clever honda devices with the clever wheel thingy - no, it was a supermarket trolley.
you know the ones where one or two of the wheels wobbly and have a mind of their own and typically want to veer off suddenly into an elaborate display of tinned food?.
that is jehovahs chariot as driven by the governing body.

there's been numerous discussions about the singing cart thing in this month's video.
i decided to watch at least a portion of the rest of the program though because sometimes things are said that are interesting to pick up on.
this one started off on the topic of unity, and, unbelievably, herd talked about brainwashing and how we like to have our brains cleaned.

I decided to watch at least a portion of the rest of the program though because sometimes things are said that are interesting to pick up on. This one started off on the topic of unity, and, unbelievably, Herd talked about brainwashing and how we like to have our brains cleaned. That was a bit surprising to hear from the top.
Then there was a portion about the international conventions and about how so many volunteered. I was interested in this part because of of the I.C.s was in Seattle, and there were a few people in the video that I recognized. They bragged about how much time they spent or how many volunteers there were, including a bit about having a quota of 500 people every day to greet the international delagates. They interviewed people who talked about how wonderful it was to be a volunteer and that they enjoyed it so much, and about how they loved seeing their brothers from another country. There's no doubt in my mind that these folks were genuine and really enjoyed the experience. The sad part of all of this is that this is how JWs feel love and faith is demonstrated. Christ said at Matthew 5:46, 47: "For if you love those loving you, what reward do you have? Are not also the tax collectors doing the same thing? And if you greet your brothers only, what extraordinary thing are you doing? Are not also the people of the nations doing the same thing?"
The other thing I became convinced of is that if you don't think the organization endorses those buttons advertising the website, think again. Several were interviewed who had them on. This is fully acknowledged and supported by the organization.
i just started to watch the february broadcast when i noticed a metallic rattle over the drone of sam's voice.
(does that man speak with a mouth full of chowin' tobacco or is he choking on the rubbish he reads off the autocue?).
yep it's his rolex.
the week of september 15, 2014 was the congregations cos visit.
the midweek meeting was on tuesday, a very general bland talk was given by the co. in the past we would have had the elders & servants meeting on thursday night, and the other congregation meeting on friday.
as you know the friday meeting is no more.
so i have gotten into arguements with my wife in the past about this cult.
now a days after reading steve hassan books...i just try and avoid anything jdub with her.
try to keep her in authentic mode..(not sure she really has one).
Came across this verse the other day. Thought it might be useful:
Now to the man who works, his pay is not counted as an undeserved kindness but as something owed to him. 5 On the other hand, to the man who does not work but puts faith in the One who declares the ungodly one righteous, his faith is counted as righteousness.
- Romans 4:4,5
have you all read this weeks study article?.
oh my word it is full of fear inducing tactics....doom and gloom outlooks.... anxiety inducing methods to develop absolute control over witnesses and cripple them in any attempt to think for themselves!.
(notice i am saying "themselves" rather than "ourselves"?!
After sitting through the study, I had a thought:
Which is it? Go into the interior rooms? Or flee to the mountains and don't even go into your house? (Matt 24:15-21)
Of course, both are the same, according to WT: flee to the organization (the mountains) and stay close to the congregation (interior rooms).

This article is, once again, full of half-truths and, as pointed out, lots of fear-mongering. Did you notice the reference to the "governing body in Jerusalem" in paragraph 4? The cited scripture says "apostles in Jerusalem". Very deceptive indoctrination at work here.
i know dubs are delusional.
i know dubs don't reason well.
i know dubs are a bit off, like many groups.
why do the jehovah's witnesses feel that paradise earth is a literal place?.
i posted this question in yahoo answers if anyone is interested: https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20150125163818aatmbtr.
why believe poetic promised land prophecy is to be taken literally, but scriptures saying the earth will end must be taken figuratively?

The Jews did not have any idea of inheriting a paradise in heaven. Biblical and secular history proves that the Jews up to Christ's time looked to a restored earthly paradise. So when the Jews questioned him about how to “inherit everlasting life,” they were also confirming that the promises found in Psalms were of a literal earth (Mt 19:16; Lk 10:25-27).
No, the Jews did not have any idea of going to heaven at all. However, when Christ came, things changed.
“The Law and the Prophets were until John. From then on, the Kingdom of God is being declared as good news, and every sort of person is pressing forward toward it. 17 Indeed, it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one stroke of a letter of the Law to go unfulfilled. - Luke 16:16, 17
Christ offered the hope of heavenly life, and his apostles echoed it. (John 14:1-4; 2 Cor 5:1,2; Phil 3:13-21; Col 1:3-5; 1 Pet 1:4)
Christians did not have the hope of paradise earth. Consider this: if they did, wouldn't at least ONE of them have spoken about it? But not a single one did. There isn't a single expression from Peter, Paul, James or John about a paradise earth. Of course, a paradise earth WOULD be good news, wouldn't it? If that were the case, then why did Paul say what he said at Gal 1:6-8? Especially verses 8 and 9. Even an ANGEL would be cursed if a DIFFERENT good news were declared. Something serious to think about.
In addition, Ephesians 4:4 talks about "the one hope", not "two distinct hopes". (w13 12/15 p. 25 par. 13)
The only way around the passages above is to say that the Greek Scriptures were written primarily for the anointed. (w08 1/15 p. 22 par. 11) That is a whole other discussion, and has all the markings of 'shutting up the Kingdom of the heavens.' (Matt 23:13)
