I just took a good look at mine and I like it. She has a bow on her mouth and I have been buying a lot of Betsy Johnson jewlery that features bows. GREAT FIT.

Monsters
by Chariklo inthe monsters in the thread title are not monsters of the mind or of nighmare, but just the friendly (or otherwise) little alien creatures depicting our forum selves.. it's illogical, but often i find myself feeling that these weird and wonderful creatures take on the personality of the poster.
phizzy's seems to me to be perfect for someone phizzy.
cantleave's suits him very well.

Is the beast hating on the harlot yet?
by irondork inthis forum would probably not be a good measuring stick for answering that question.
god is supposed to put it into the heart of the beast (u.n.) to hate the harlot (religion) and destroy her.
do you see this happening or is this another "we're seeing more earthquakes" thing?.

Is it possible that the bible is just a book, and revelation is not some grand vision but some nonsense written knowing that there will always be some fools who try to interpret it and apply it to their own day?
Diamomsiiz, I recommend reading "Misquoting Jesus." I hate to keep promoting this book but it's a good book; full of information. I found it disturbing but informative.

Thanks to all
by Socrateswannabe ini am by nature a reticent soul.
i am perfectly happy to watch from the sidelines as others debate and contest, poke, prod, and cajole one another.
as an observer, i still gain.

How Will the Society React to the Hundred Year Anniversary of 1914?
by slimboyfat init's only a couple of years away now and what a headache it must present to the gb - providing they have given it much thought already.
there probably is no elegant way of presenting the hundred year long failure of the end to come; the fact that the "short period of time" of satan being cast down to the earth has now stretched beyond any credibility.
but they have to deal with it one way or another.

SBF, I have been wondering the same thing. I go for #1 but I didn't win the lottery either and I really thought I had a chance at it!

Lady Lee, Excellent post and well written. I wanted to post earlier but was at work all week-end. I am new to this site and am just beginning to get to know the posters. I see that there are a variety of beliefs expressed on this site; some are surprising beliefs. There is nothing I enjoy more than a good debate. I find there is a lot for me to learn. I don’t think I engage in cyber-bulling or any type of bulling. I don’t enjoy being mean to others. I usually ignore bullies but I do think that a person should defend themselves and/or call out a bully when they attack you for no reason. If a person does not agree with your view, they can disagree or attack your view but it is not nice to attack a person you don’t even know. In real life, in my line of work, I see a lot of bulling. I was the target of much bulling when I first started on my job. I just ignored it until I had my fill. I reacted like Ralfie in the “The Christmas Story.” Now most bullies leave me alone as they know I will not put up with it. As for bullies on this site, I have not seen many. I see some posters know each other quite well and can get in heated discussions but that’s okay so long as they don’t attack each other personally. That brings the discussions to a low level and they are no longer interesting. I never sought support from any other XJW after leaving the organization. I stumbled on to this site after searching the web just to see if anyone was out there. The reason I was looking is because I realize no one but another XJW can understand what we have experienced, especially those of us who are born-ins or were in at such a young age, we have no memory of any other way of life to fall back on.

Well, I hope in even my small way to be part of the exposure of the WTS. I think we 'should never forget.'
I tell all my good friends about how the organization treats those who choose to leave. I expose them as much as possible. They cannot believe what I tell them. They tell me that they will never welcome any of then into their homes and that they are going to tell them what I have said about them.

Leaving the JW religion of your own volition is a rejection of your core values, a destabilization of your psychological
foundation.TMS, you are so right! It's hard to realize that your whole life was based on lies and all those years were wasted. I feel your pain. No one who has not expeienced this type of life can understand the anger and loss we feel.
I commed you and your wife for choosing your son over the organization. Most JWs don't do that. I admire your wife for confronting those elders.

marriage without affection/sex/touching
by zeb inyes thats my situation.
some where along the path of life the wt guilt trip was dumped on our marriage and we havent had sex for years.. anyone else?
the hearts and flowers and gifts and doing the cleaning, the house work and paying the daily accounts never being drunk on drugs playing the horses or screwing others yep its all there but nothing coming back due to the wt guilt trip.. they made so much of 'oral sex' and 'pornea' incorrectly quoted at that and ventured thereby into areas they were patently very ill equipped to comment on.

Is it not crazy to let some old men in NYC dictate your sex life? I actually thought the Health Dept was going to find out about our sex life and I was going to lose my job.It was so stressful and you don't dare ask anyone else about what is normal (not even your sisters) and what isn't. Yes, they mess up your life with their rules and then go on their merry way leaving marriages shattered. I hope you can work things out. I am sure she also misses all that closeness and sexual outlet. Women are very sexual creatures!
