That is a sad story. I cannot believe how many lives the WTS has ruined. Their lives remind me of the movie "The Descendants" except that they did not take advantage of what they inherited. What does your wife think about the situation?

They Are an Armageddon Family
by OnTheWayOut inthis is just my musing.
there's no serious controversy in my musings, just ramblings.
i suppose in 30 to 40 years (or less), sally and her brother may be selling the property on the beach at the end of the paved road, so that whatever remains of their family will have a few more million dollars and will be able to pioneer.

Who has "reverted back to apostate [Christian] doctrines"
by biometrics inif you were a jehovah's witness have you "reverted right back to the apostate doctrines that commentaries by christendom"?.
"from time to time, there have arisen from among the ranks of jehovah's people those who, like the original satan, have adopted an independent, faultfinding attitude...they say that it is sufficient to read the bible exclusively, either alone or in small groups at home.
but, strangely, through such 'bible reading,' they have reverted right back to the apostate doctrines that commentaries by christendom's clergy were teaching 100 years ago...".

Have I gone back to Catholic donctrines? To be honest, I suppose the truthful answer it perhaps, maybe, er, not really, not sure, perhaps not.
In other words, I am reserving my position. I'm absolutely determined never again to allow anyone else to dictate to me what I'm going to belieive. No-one else is going to judge my actions, and if they do, well, that's their problem.
Chariklo, my sentiments exactly.

Life is in the blood?
by sinis inhowever, at conception (life) blood is not present until much later as the fetus developes.
blood is an organ.
now if "life" starts without blood, then is life really in blood?.

njy, that's another good point! That would argue against the belief that a still born baby would not be resurrected. The fetus was alive at one time.
This is what I like about this forum, we can actually discuss an issue without anyone arbitrarily expecting everyone else to accept their opinion as ultimate "truth."

What exactly is a relasionship with God?
by tootired2care ingrowing up and jw and being around them all my life i constantly heard the expression "a relasionship with god".
this always confused me, because how do you have a relasionship with someone that doesn't talk back to you after praying?
this was always rationalized as god talks back to you when you read the bible.

I would add that our sub-conscious mind constantly attempts to communicate with the so call conscious part of our mind; more accurately called our frontal lobes.
I had a brain aneurysm. It was repaired by filling the aneurysm with swirls of platnium. After the surgery, every once in a while, quite often really, I would experience an extremely pleasurable feeling all over my body.
I thought maybe the sac filled with platnium was touching the limbic system in my brain. Unfortunately, after a few months, the feelings stopped. I was disappoined. Just thought I would throw that into the
conversation

I told my daughter, who is a Baptist I think, that I never actually prayed. That I thanked God every morning for my life, for me waking up every morning, for the beautiful day and for the wonderful earth we live in. When I arrive at
work I thank God that I have a job and can take care of myself. She asked if God knew it was Him I was talking to. I said "Yes, He does; we've been friends for years." I feel that God is always near me, I talk to his as I would to
a friend. I think he has saved me from harm a couple of times but most of the time he just helps me to know/learn how to help myself. I never feel alone.

If I was aware of what had been said before (which I am and apparently you are) and it didn't happen, I would not be giving false counseling to these young JWs. I would tell them that they needed to get an education and
plan for the future. I would tell them that Jesus said no one knows when the end will come, only the Father knows. Isn't that what the Bible says?

My mother's last child was still-born.He was a full term baby. I remember her saying that he would not be resurrected because he had never taken a breath outside the womb, then I thought they (org) said still born babies would
be resurrected. I don't know. The WBTS is always changing their mind and messing with peoples minds and lives. They seem unaware of how their teachings and reversal of their teachings/policies affect the members.

That is an interesting observation/question. I would think that when the ovum attaches itself to the wall of the uterus it would began receiving blood but I am not sure. I never thought about it. The blood tests tell you many things
about what is going on in the body, so maybe that's why they say that the life is in the blood. They would not have known any of this back then. I am not really sure when the medical or scientist field discovered all these
things out. Interesting subject for research if a person was so inclined.
