  hello all, i've just discovered this site and i cant begin to describe how happy i am to have come across it.

  i stumbled across this site purely by accident...seriously i was looking at arkham city walkthoughs and a few jumps later i end up here.

  i though it was a legit society page at first and thought 'what the hell, this will be good for a laugh', but after reading a few posts well...i couldnt stop reading.

  Did You Believe You Recieved "Blessings" From Jehovah or "No Blessings" Because Of What You Did?

  i got a kick out of how many times jws were told that the reason something good happened to them was because they recieved "blessings" from jehovah god.

  and if they were going through tribulations and tough times, it was quite probably due to their failing in some way.. did you believe jehovah wasw sometimes blessing you or cursing you?.

  My mother, who had been raised Catholic, always told me "we all have to suffer" so I never expected any blessings. Finally I asked her "why do we have to suffer?" I am not into suffering! I don't think I ever received

  any blessing from Jehovah and the elders and some of the members of the congregation seemed to enjoy making life harder for everyone.

  1. I would probably run, unless they were my children or maybe some other young children, which I would attempt to grab and take with me. I am not a hero. I did stand in front of my younger brother once, when I

  was 15 and he was 12, and took a beating with a belt from my father. Don't know why I did that!! Instinct I guess.

  Talesin, you are essential to YOUR happiness and you do not know what the future holds for you. Like you, few would grieve if I died, but you know, I think that is true of the majority of people.

  LongHairGal, I agree with your assessment of what those in the congregation said and thought. If the great tribulation ever was to come, it would be every man/family for himself/herself/themselves.

  When people have asked me for what I myself need and they want, I just say, You should have brought your own extra oil for your lamp!!

  does anyone work for a good employer who does anything special for you for the week?

  Happy Nurses week to you serenitynow! The hospital I work for has a whole week of activities planned for the nurses:ice cream social, Nures's tea day

  where we can register for Certified Nurse Scholarships. They also have a day where nurses give an example of how they feel they have made a difference

  in a patient's life. The winner of the essay recieves a prize. They have a special treat planned for night shift, which is what I work; don't know what that

  will be, probably some pizza. We also usually receive a small gift such as a coffee cup or something along that line. I am surprised your employer doesn't do

  anything for you. Most places usually do a little something for the nurses. As hard as we work, we need a little show of thanks once in a while don't you

  Thanks for posting this video. I agree with this man Wolf, he has a good arguement. Makes me want to go back to the University and study Philosophy. I had forgotten that I had bought a book by Richard Dawkins

  "The Majic of Reality." It kinda reads like a kid's book, but I found it interesting; just started reading it. I have several philosophy books but have never had the time to do anything but skim over them. I like his

  discription of the soul, what he thinks it is.Thank's for introducing me to this website.

  dear friends,.

  much of what we do on a daily basis is routine and of no particular, earth-shaking importance.

  however, after reviewing letters of family going back to wwii, it is fascinating to read what dad was doing on board the aircraft carrier in the pacific on any old day, what mom was cooking on her ever-steaming range, how i was dealing with the roller coaster of emotion at bethel [mom saved all my letters], how nana wrote that she would not study with the witnesses [per my request] but 'here are some mittens i knitted for you when you canvass new york with your magazines.

  Blondie, I tend to agree with you. I remember always expecting persecution especially as the "end grew nearer." I believe we were even warned against the "evil slave class." That's why I don't think demonstrating at

  Kingdom Halls or assemblies is benificial. My 69 yo cousin, who has been around the "truth" since she was 4, is now studying and keeps telling me that people come down on JWs who make a mistake but not on those

  of other reigions who make the same mistakes. So as you say, they love persection and it only makes them think they are Gods people. You have to help them see for themselves what the orgainzation is

  doing/teaching that proves they are not God's mouthpiece.
