  Thanks, Atlantis. Downloaded. Will make for interesting reading. Of course I was never an elder; wrong gender.

  I was just reading the last two pages as it was printing. WOW! It's all about the preaching work. I have been out so long that everything about the borg is so strange to me.

  What the hell was I thinking?! Stupid me!!

  so my husband and i have a son who will be 2 years old next month and i really wanted him to be socialized more.

  ever since we stopped going to meetings, we have been pretty much shunned even though there has never been an "official" reason for it (df, da..).

  i am terribly introverted, so it's difficult for me to get out there and talk to people but our son is a people-person and i wanted him to have more peers to be around.

  I haven't had little ones in years, but how about a good child care center for just for a few hours or so. I have read it helps children to learn to be social and get along with others. I hate it that your young son was not accepted by the other kids but it was probably a blessing in disgise. The other posters seem to have good suggestions. You are a great mom for trying to do the best for you son.

  "please sign in" was all mom said to me and my boys at her sisters funeral yesterday at the kindom hall

  my dad never once looked at me...i went even though they did not come to the door when i went to tell her i was sorry about her sister...that i had heard through the grapvine her sister had died...they did not even ccall me...and they did not answer the phone when i left the message asking for the time and place of the funeral unless they did not want us to attend...and they did not call....but we all decided to go anyway and im glad we did....but it was surreal...i will share more later.

  and i have a close friend nearby dfd about four years ago whose dad is dying and wont hardly ever talk to her... he does a bit but not her mom....neither does robert7s mom talk at all to him and yes it causes pain...but i think i am finally close to healing that last part of mine......oompa.

  funny but just realized that the above two cases both people are recognizd as a son or daughter important enough to shun like me...but we dont get shunned like dfd and apostate sons at the funeral...just another attendee...wow.

  Sorry oompa. I have experienced the same thing with my sisters and cousins. The way they treat us is so crazy and unlike how Jesus treated people. It does hurt to be mistreated by those you love.

  How many ex-jws poster here now believe in Hellfire, immortality of soul, trinity, etc;

  i am just curious about this because although i agree with many of the posters here that the wt society is guilty of many horrible deeds, i still believe they are right when it comes to doctrinal things as i mention.

  especially hellfire.

  i just don't see how anybody that has studied the bible for many years like many of the ex-jws here can make an about face and go back to believing hellfire.

  I don't believe in hellfire. I just don't think it makes sense. It would take a diabolical GOD or person to punish anyone by burning them forever. I am not sure about the Trinity, I don't think I belive it. I am thinking that I don't believe in the Flood or the creation account because I ask myself, "How would anyone know how it all happend?" I think the writers just guessed that maybe that is what happened. I have also always had problems with Noah living for so long and just having three sons and those sons had no children. It does not ring true to me.

  My granddaugher got me hooked on the tv series "Friends" while I was visiting her recently. Now I have bought the 10 CDs of the series and I have been watching it every night. I have also bought about 40 books in the last few months. I have plenty with which to entertain myself. Today I bought the CD of "Casablanca" and the book "THE YEARS OF LYNDON JOHNSON/THE PASSAGE OF POWER." It looks like it is going to be interesting. I like history.

  i've already received enquiries from those interested in hiring a lawyer to pursue their own child abuse claims in the wake of the candace conti verdict.

  obviously, rick simons has excelled in his handling of the case, but i'm sure it wouldn't be practical for him to represent each-and-every potential client who are victims of child abuse.

  i am thinking particularly of victims of molesters in the uk, where i am from.. i have no legal experience, and i am not personally acquianted with any lawyers specializing in this field.
