Discussion with my dad about 607 in a week,,,,help?
by stillstuckcruz inso to make a long story short, my family found out about my "apostacy"(i couldn't take it anymore) and now everything is all in shambles.
they still feel there is "hope" for me.

One of the main point the book GTR makes is that the 70 years applies to how long Babylon would be allowed to rule and that it applied to Babylon's domination of "these nationS' not just Jerusalem. If you get the book in time for the
discussion, just look at the summeries and you can get a good argument to present to your father.

Do you have the book "The Gentile Times Reconsidered" by Carl Olof Jonsson an xjw now? He has presented indisputable evidence against this date and the wbts teaching. COJ presented this evidence to the GD and R.Franz tried to get the GD to consider the evidence but they refused. Excellent book.

What has or would motivate you to attend an Ex-JW meet up...
by Tuesday ini just wanted to get a general consensus of what are the motivations to attend an ex-jw meet up.
if you've already attended one before, what motivated you the first time or each successive time?
if you've never attended an ex-jw meet up before what do you think could motivate you to attend one?.

Distance is what would keep me from attending a xjw get together. I feel no one but a xjw can understand what we have been through as jws.There could be some "pretenders to the misery" attending. Also, who would try to get you to join another religion; we've been there, done that!!

Blondie, I had not read a WT since sometime in the early 80s (df'd for apostasy around that time). Majority of my family (large and also 3 generations) still very active. I burst out laughing when my cousin told me about the two editions of the WT. I thought that was a smart move on the wts part. Was surprised to find we (apostates) could actually gain access to the study editions. Thanks for keeping us informed. I am new to these sites; been too busy getting education at University to have any interest in WBTS until a few months ago.

As for the formation of the universe, all but its initiation is well understood.
