No fiery hell for me. Thank God!

i'm just curious what everyone's view of hell is.
i know that most of you were at one time jws and i was wondering if you still held to the no-hell doctrine or if you had found scriptural reasons to believe otherwise.
if the latter applies, would you be so kind as to share the scriptures that have enlightened you?.
No fiery hell for me. Thank God!

anyone else leave to follow the greatful dead?.
what else could i do without an education?
make grilled cheese.
My JW mother slapped me so hard one morning before leaving for school that I literally saw stars with a black sky and everything. And what did she slap me for?
My boy cousin had walked down to my house to accompany me to school. I was not ready and so he came inside the house and proceeded to my room. My mother comes to my room and kicks him out and told him that she did not allow boys in my room. I told her that she allow men in hers. She slapped so hard my face felt numb all the way to the bus stop. Join the club my fellow victim!

I thought that somehow you had been to the congregation that I "visit" from "time to time", here lately.

have you heard those words?
perhaps a doctor or a nurse said them before administering a recommended treatment.
likely, you did not refuse to submit to the treatment simply to avoid the anticipated pain.
Hey ISP,
I look back now and wished that I had never physically spanked my son. I use to spank him for dumb reasons like; not sitting still in the meetings, not being still on a Bible study, for wanting to play in the door to door work, not being still when we were invited over to someone elses house for dinner, or just a visit, ect. A lot of times I did not want to spank him but I felt that others would think that I was not training him properly if I did not. The sad part about this is that he really did not need to be spanked. He would listen to me when I talked to him. I never had to spank him at home.
I hate myself for being such a "bitch". I extremely dislike the ones that I allowed to control the dicipline of my child.
Thanks for that post. It allowed me to do a little "venting".

ladies and gentlemen of the jury listen to my story then make a wise and fair decision in my case.. i'm a 42 year old male.
been in the truth for 32 years.
married to a witness.
Hey diamond,
I'm just fading. When people ask me where I have been, I just say, "out of town." The look on my face tells them not to ask anymore nosy questions. I missed so many theocratic school meetings, that I think that they do not assign me talks anymore.
My advice to you is, take each day as it come and do what you feel the most comfortable with. A good wife is not easy to come by, so protect that relationship as best that you can. And do not lose faith in your Creator. Welcome to the best place on the Internet!

Is that all Jemimah?
thought you'd be interested to know that i have just been forwarded a note from the watch tower, belatedly in response to the tiny little story i got in on 17 november about that chicago jw couple accused of beating their daughter to death.
it is interesting that they shld respond - on headed notepaper, apparently from pennsylvania - nearly a month later about something that really got very little space and i can't help feeling it's not unconnected with the other stuff i was writing at that time.
this is it, in full:.
Once a person becomes a babtized witness they remain in a babtized condition and accountable to the WTS. That accountability changes if they are disfellowshipped, or formally disassociated. 1. They can disassociate themselves formally by writting a letter to the elders and expressing wishes to no longer be recognized as one of Jehovahs Witneses. 2. They can be formally disassociated by the elders.
If these 2 things have not taken place, then a babtized Jehovahs Witness remains in a babtized condition and are still accountable to the laws and regulations of the WTS. And the fact that they attended meetings, even if it was not on a regular bases, showed that they also recognized their standing in the congregation as Jehovahs Witnesses.
Word games does not work for this situation.

Now let me try to understand the positions of these governments.
They want to tax moneys in certain areas that are collected by religious organizations. They are not saying that they want “all” of the money, just a portion of it. They also want taxes paid on the services received, and I take this to mean that this is a financial protection for the volunteers. When these volunteers retire, would that mean that they could expect to receive some kind of retirement benefit from the government?
Did Jesus not say, “pay Caesars things to Caesar.” Did Paul not say, “be obedient to the Authorities?” If we did not receive one more watchtower or awake or any other book from the WTS, because they could not afford to pay the taxes for the volunteers, wouldn’t you agree that we have enough literature to last a lifetime? At least they are giving the witnesses the freedom to worship. Isn’t that the most important thing?
Remember WTS practice what you preach; “money is for a protection, but it is wisdom that preserves alive its owners.”
