I can relate to what you are saying. It is hard to explain to people, and to paint a clear picture of the WTS's cold response to humanitarian aid. It makes one angry.

i was hanging around my mom's house yesterday, and i just happened to leaf through the january 8th afake!
magazine, about the wtc disaster.. no doubt that perhaps many of the sept. 11 experiences are real, but what i mostly read were these shameless advertisements for the watchtower complex in downtown brooklyn!!
i was appalled!!

To all posters.
When I first came to this Forum I was an angry JW for all the reasons that the average JW would be angry. All my life I had only associated with fellow JW’s. Was always careful to live by “Bible standards” as set out by the WTS. When I personally experienced the worst attack on my family’s dignity, I had to find out why. All of my questions were answered in here. I am not angry anymore. I feel so free, but sometimes I go a little overboard in my newfound freedom. Have to apologize to some that I may have offended.
I look at this Forum as a family. We are all drawn here for one basic reason. We are all interested in the WTS. We all have our demons about the WT to conquer. Kicking each other’s behinds is not going to conquer those demons. Leaving will not satisfy our thirst for justice.
I find ones that first come in here, attack so-called apostates. Before you do that again, read more. Ask the questions that brought you here. Don’t defend anyone or anything before you fully investigate the charges. When you reach the most logical conclusion, don’t feel guilty for wasting your time in an organization that gave false hope of being the only “Truth”. Feel liberated. Then encourage others that were just like us. Don’t kill the messenger.

just a funny memory...... my sister and i, once we reached pre-teen, were highly critical of almost all the congregation members.
we'd get home and mercilessly mock and make fun of elders, kids, you name it.
some of our fonder nicknames (warning: some may be weird, but we didn't get out much!
Hey you guys,
remember we are part of a worldwide brotherhood. Every congregation acts the same, one way or the other.

i already said farewell in my apology post to julie.
but many of you may not have read it since it was specific to her.. i was planning a long farewell statement because i have a number of things i want to share, but decided i would do that in private if anyone wishes.
you can reach me at [email protected].. i chose to leave for a number of reasons, and some stated on my last post.
Wow Amazing,
after I get comfortable in here, you leave. Your posts are so informative. Oh well, I have to stop being self-centered. Life moves forward and so should we. Thanks for your very intelligent answers to many of my concerns.

we visited angharad's parents at the weekend and got a call on sunday night from her sister who'd been called by my sister as they hadn't been able to contact us .... the message was not a happy one:.
my dad has had a heart attack and was in intensive care in hospital.. it was a while before i managed to speak to anyone over there with people probably out but i eventually spoke to his wife who says he's doing ok and has now been moved to the main ward but is being kept in as you would expect.
he may have to be moved to calgary for some investigation / tests.. he had heart surgery about 15 years ago and i think 4 of his 5 bypasses have failed so he has to take quite a bit of medicine for pain and stuff.
Hello Simon,
sorry about your Dad. Hopefully he will pull through.
"Silly bugger doesn't slow down though and is always doing things round the house and helping people out."
He will be fine because "there is more happiness in giving."
It seems to me that he is using his life in the most productive way; thinking of others and their well being.
Living each day to the full, leaving nothing undone, nothing unsaid that needs to be known, and loving those around you, is maybe not all that a person can do, but is a "whole lot."
As far as your other relatives, look at them and feel sorry for them. You are free.

daniel 8 for dummies - part 2: "the watchtower strikes back" .
i've posted this one before, but it's been updated and is especially geared for you true believing dubbies out there.
what i'm going to discus is important even though you may not have the attention span to digest it, because this is your religion and what it still teaches.
Hi Farkel,
First of all, the average JW doesn’t care about all of that interpretation because they do not understand it. Second of all, they don’t have to learn it because they do not care. Thirdly, when changes are made, they do not know the difference. Fourthly, if they were asked a question by some intellectual in the door to door work concerning these prophecies they would say, “let me research this and I will get back to you.” After leaving the door they will say to their companion, “he is a goat and I am not wasting my time.”
Appreciate all of that fine research Farkel.
