Even disfellowshipped ones may be in need of comfort if they have repented and corrected their wrong course. Thus, “the faithful and discreet slave” has instituted a merciful provision to assist them. Once a year two elders may visit certain disfellowshipped ones. These may no longer show a rebellious attitude or be engaged in gross sin and may need help to take the necessary steps to get reinstated.
Shunning would be appropriate for anyone who rejects the congregation:
never receive him into your homes or say a greeting to him.
Must continue avoiding persons that are disfellowshipped or disassociated.
If the disfellowshipped or disassociated one is a relative living outside the immediate family circle and home, it might be possible to have almost no contact at all with the relative. Even if there were some family matters requiring contact, this certainly would be kept to a minimum.Pureheart

no blood cards this year!
by DIM inlast night at meeting they told us to just use our blood cards from last year.
in the past they've always told us how important it was to get it signed every year so that people could see our current views as jw's.....doesn't this new arangement negate everything they've ever said in regards to this?

When Jesus was on earth, he kept a low profile at all times. In fact when the mob came to arrest Jesus the night before his death, Judas had to give the soldiers a sign so that they would arrest the right man.
The WTS has become so prominent in the world, bragging all the time about their worldwide work. And what does all of this worldwide work entail? To name a few: Their printing of literature in more languages than any other Bible company, volunteers working free of charge, their quick build Kingdom Halls, their grand Assembly Halls, their Branch Offices, their huge conventions, ect…..all of this done on donation bases only. They are, unlike Jesus, maintaining a very high profile. It takes much money to keep a huge operation like this going, and money is what keeps the worlds eyes on anything.
It seems to me that they are trying now to step out of the lime light. I think that it is too late. It seems that they are on their way to being exposed. All of their business is going to be in the street soon.Pureheart

i know that most of you were at one time jws and i was wondering if you still held to the no-hell doctrine or if you had found scriptural reasons to believe otherwise.

My JW mother slapped me so hard one morning before leaving for school that I literally saw stars with a black sky and everything. And what did she slap me for?
My boy cousin had walked down to my house to accompany me to school. I was not ready and so he came inside the house and proceeded to my room. My mother comes to my room and kicks him out and told him that she did not allow boys in my room. I told her that she allow men in hers. She slapped so hard my face felt numb all the way to the bus stop. Join the club my fellow victim!Pureheart

Hey ISP,
I look back now and wished that I had never physically spanked my son. I use to spank him for dumb reasons like; not sitting still in the meetings, not being still on a Bible study, for wanting to play in the door to door work, not being still when we were invited over to someone elses house for dinner, or just a visit, ect. A lot of times I did not want to spank him but I felt that others would think that I was not training him properly if I did not. The sad part about this is that he really did not need to be spanked. He would listen to me when I talked to him. I never had to spank him at home.
I hate myself for being such a "bitch". I extremely dislike the ones that I allowed to control the dicipline of my child.

Hey diamond,
I'm just fading. When people ask me where I have been, I just say, "out of town." The look on my face tells them not to ask anymore nosy questions. I missed so many theocratic school meetings, that I think that they do not assign me talks anymore.
My advice to you is, take each day as it come and do what you feel the most comfortable with. A good wife is not easy to come by, so protect that relationship as best that you can. And do not lose faith in your Creator. Welcome to the best place on the Internet!Pureheart
