Studied with JW grandma for 3 years and went to meetings, I have now seen the light!
by yogosans14 inim new here and im 17, going to turn 18 in 1 week.
i studied with my gradma the bible teach book and went to meeting with her and other relatives (considering most my relatives are jw except my parents) and i believe in all of it because i never read the bible for myself.
after reading the gospels i started noticing contradictions in the jw doctrine like when jesus said many would dine with the patriachs in the kingdom of heaven (yet only 144,000 jws can) which would seem odd considering the fact he adressed this to more then the apostles.

You are proof that the WT doctrines are not working! Thank God you made your way out!
Wish you a very happy future.

What is the point of Judicial Committees??
by quellycatface ini've had 2 jc's, both resulted in reproof.. but.....in church, the vicar asks us do reflect quitely on anything that we have done that we're not happy about and to ask for forgiveness in our heart.
knowing that jesus will forgive us, if we are sorry and have faith in him.
good.

Involved with a JW woman
by jonza inokay so i'm dating a born-in jw woman, she's younger than me and has no kids.
i'm a christian man whos divorced with 2 kids.
we're in love and seriously want to be together.
-
sarahsmile
Jonza I do not think this is the girl for you. It is time to end it.
You need to think of your children.
I do not recall how long you have been dating but trust me long hours on Skype or video chat is nothing like in person.
Living together every day and trying to manipulate each other to believe or not to believe that is not love.
Not only that your both very strong with manipulating! Not fun! Although I think she wins! only because she thinks she is in love.
How many years do you want to spend trying to convince someone of what they believe is wrong! Trust me it takes thirty years or more!
Let her go so she can find another worldly boy who will be okay with her religion.
Your not okay with who she is now!
Face the facts, maybe she can go back to meetings and find a nice JW older man.
Having children and trying to convince her to not have any because of religious differences. Not cool.
What is that saying! It says your trying to push her away.
She is younger and your just manipulating her to not be a JW.
Find a girl who is not a JW, let her go. What is the big deal? You think this will be your last love!
Take care.

This weeks WT "Let Your Kingdom Come"
by Legacy inso the wt states "the horsemen have made their appearance".
in 1914, jesus christ is pictured as riding a white horse-was given his heavenly crown.

Hi Lagacy: Your right the one riding on a white horse can not be Jesus. He is opening up the scrolls!
I never noticed this before, thanks for the insight! I did not catch it!
However, I notice the following could not be Jesus either another angel, first angel, mighty angel, and fallen angel. As the Wt claims might be Jesus. I had the same thought as you when I read these versus. Good find! He cant be opening up the scrolls and doing the work! He is more like a commander telling these others what to do. Also JWs just love to say it is a prophecy or symbolic because they do not have an answer. Stating prophecy and symbolism are just another way to appear to have your answers.
Sorry I can not cut and paste the rest!
When he (see Rev 5)opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour.
2 And I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and seven trumpets were given to them.
3 Another angel, (Jw claim is Jesus)who had a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense to offer, with the prayers of all God’s people, on the golden altar in front of the throne. 4 The smoke of the incense, together with the prayers of God’s people, went up before God from the angel’s hand.5 Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and hurled it on the earth; and there came peals of thunder, rumblings, flashes of lightning and an earthquake.
The Trumpets
6 Then the seven angels who had the seven trumpetsprepared to sound them.
7 The first angel sounded his trumpet, and there came hail and fire mixed with blood, and it was hurled down on the earth. A third of the earth was burned up, a third of the trees were burned up, and all the green grass was burned up.
8 The second angel sounded his trumpet, and something like a huge mountain, all ablaze, was thrown into the sea. A thirdof the sea turned into blood, 9 a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed.
10 The third angel sounded his trumpet, and a great star, blazing like a torch, fell from the sky on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water— 11 the name of the star is Wormwood.[ a ] A third of the waters turned bitter, and many people died from the waters that had become bitter.
12 The fourth angel sounded his trumpet, and a third of the sun was struck, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them turned dark. A third of the day was without light, and also a third of the night.
13 As I watched, I heard an eagle that was flying in midaircall out in a loud voice: “Woe! Woe! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth, because of the trumpet blasts about to be sounded by the other three angels!
Anyhow Jesus can not be the fallen angel either for your same reasoning.
Sorry I could not cut and paste again.
Anyhow,I agree with you!

JC are not bibical!
Now you know to take it to God.
I find it strange how many suffer through these JC meetings full of fear and hope for some kind of help. Practicing sin or a one timer does not matter. The person who reports the wrong act might be trying to help. Yet there is no help to be found.
Did you confess your sins?
Where does it say in the Bible that confessing sins some one should suffer reproof or dfd? You wont find it!
If your husband was practicing sin and you confessed your husband's sins to the elders. The elders should hear your confession and oil your head then pray to God for the forgivness of sins. Because YOU came forward his life could be spared. Does it say they stopped practicing sin? No! Our Father is so forgiving he will help you with your loved ones! What more do you think he will do for personal direct confession. It is in the bible and I could find it for you, if you want.
Once you figure this out you realize the WT really has it wrong!
What they practice is keeping the congregation clean so they need to reprove or dfd people! Keeping the congregation clean has nothing to do with helping the sinner, and everything to do with judging. Judging if one is righteous enough to belong in a fake organization.
Although I prayed to God, for some odd reason I thought I was suppose to go to elders to keep the congregation clean.
Like you I learned to take it to God and not men!
Why would men want to hear women's sin! No need to answer I think it is for their own satisfaction.

I made my daughters cry last night.....
by Ugottabefresh in...when i told them i didn't believe anymore.
they cried like i'd never seen before.
my oldest, 10, pleaded with me that she'd do anything to get me to keep going to meetings ("i'll get a's on my report card!").

Most JW children should be exposed to other ways of thinking!
But will you be able to respect your children chooses of wanting to believe in the miracles of God and life?
I guess that is the point to offer diversity and allow them to make choices.
It probably will not be the last time you make your children cry! Better to train them to be opened to all kinds of viewpoints.

How do you get through the memorial?
by Gorbatchov infor family reasons, gorby and his wife and children has to visit the hall at april 14. our family accept that we are faders, but don't accept if we do not visit the memorial.. so, it seems a small investment: one evening love bombing for a year peace and rest.. but i hate the visit.
headache.
meeting the people knowing it's all fake love showing.. how do you get through it?.

Sounds like your family places conitioal love.
Try to sit close by families and leave as soon as it is over.
Children from my generation were taught that it lacked respect for Jesus death to make it a social event.

I don't find this stuff amusing anymore
by sparrowdown ini would just like to get this off my chest.. during the public talk last sunday the speaker (bro holden m'groin) said in public talk: .
" if you ask any 16yr old girl what she wants out of life, she would probably say a home, a family etc etc" (because obviously this is still 1955).. anyway that got my attention i thought " hmm....where is he going with this?"..
bro holden m'groin goes on .

I know they take someone from the KH and use them as an example how not to live ones life!
It was always a shocker, and the talk is geared to warn young adults!
Granted they get outlines for talks, but elders need to fill in the blank. I think it is just awful how they secretly stir up hate and prejudice between members.
Anyhow it not Christian to use brother or a sisters past sins against them. Jesus would never give such a sermon!
Your not the only who went home feeling mad!
The only way you get out is to walk out and never go back! That is what I did.
