here is a personal question:.

is it disturbing to you when an author jumps into the flow of history and radically departs in order to drive an important lesson home to the reader?.

in this novel i have several watch tower leaders meeting incredibly violent deaths at the hands of --well, i won't give anything away.

according to scripture they could.

sure in jw land anybody could partake of the emblems and wine , male and female denoting they could be rulers with christ in his heavenly kingdom , however did many of these partakers actually have any say with the governing body ?

in fact did any of them have any say in their own kingdom halls ?

No! The Governing Body should have women! If women can partake and be part of 144,000 class then they should be part of a Governing Body.

I knew women who partook. They wrote letters to bethel. One was accused of going before the light. They really thought they were getting divine light from Jehovah. Prayed about it all the time.

Governing Body does not make any sense.

Women should be pastors, elders, and overseers! And what ever! No one is living in bibical days!

Remember that "Anointing" referred to the smearing of oil on the High Priest. The Hebrew word is Mesach (Messiah) the Greek is Christ . So the priest was the Anointed One (namely, the "Messiah" or the "Christ"). - Many will come in my name (authority) and say I am the Christ (the Anointed - think of the WTS's GB).

Good that you explain this. And It was referring to only one Messiah. Only Jesus the Son of Man fulfilled these scripture.

Your right everyone one has a choice and I choose Jesus Christ. I choose Christanity as a faithful believer than a lost believer: somone who reads too many historical Christain books and believes them to be factual.

fist, she tried to get me to start once again in the bible teach book as if i had never said i didnt want to study from the pubs, so i reminded her.

Wow wonderful replies! Exactly right on both subject blood and bible!

One more thought, JWs do not think anyone can have a relationship with God but them. You reminded her that you do have a relationship with God, and that in itself will have her questioning her own cognative thoughts. It is the opposite of her trained JW mind.

You might ask her what she thinks about other prayers. Maybe even state such as Catholics.

I remember very well how I thought and hearing others explaining: I wonder which God she has a relationship with. Lol,lol! If she is not praying to Jehovah then it is the god of this old system of things. They believe you must use our heavenly father JEHOVAH. Let your name be known thinking. But in Acts I believe there is a prayer to Jesus.

Local JW Booth - Are You STRESSED?

so, yesterday i approached the local jw booth that is a few blocks from my house.

they are set up on the sidewalk, at the edge of a downtown park.

the display was merely rows of a magazine, with the headline *are you stressed?*.

If I asked for a loan from the WBTS would they give it to me?

if this were the "organization" that jesus chose in 1914.. err 1919, wouldn't the principles that he laid out while on earth apply to this organization as well?.

matthew 5:42 "give to the one who begs from you, and do not refuse the one who would borrow from you.".

so if jw's all asked for loans from the org, every now and then, it would be the orgs responsibility to grant those loans (interest free).

Talesin, that is exactly hiw the eleer here treat the poor. Pray about it! Ask God and he will provide.

Granted a few brothers might help with a person home repair or mow a few yards. Sister will clean an elderly person home. KH never gives money. Individual might feel sorry for someone and give money and the Kh will try to take some form of credit.

If Jesus did not fullfill Christ the Prince who do you say did?

Interesting read, I wonder about an anointing compared to Christ the Prince. My first thoughts were

Jesus fullfilled Christ the Prince but what about " Who was the Anointed One who came after 7 heptads?"

I need to reread this but did it say Anointed One or an anointing. :-)

Anyone recall a time when your congregation came to the aid of a Brother or sister in need??

i'm not talking about a individual, but a congregation as a whole.. i'm talking about a brother or sister that really hit hard times.. have there ever been an occasion where the brothers (elders).

decided to dip into the kh funds and help one in need????.

example, brother loose his job, get evicted, family of four or.

I talked to the poorest JW around and asked this question. One wanted money to pay an electric bill. Elder said to pray about it!

That the standard answer, pray about it.

They frowned on individual going to a food banks because it was in the same building as a church.

Fish and Loaves,Salvation Army, and Community food banks!

Yeap,I did my research to see if the widows and orphans were provided. In fact they treated my mom not so nice after she lost her JW husband. They did not treat fatherless children any better. They said he deserved to die: for what working grave yard and too tired to attend meetings!

The answer is NEVER!

Actually I took care of two elderly married couples when I was about fifteen or sixteen. No other kids did this charity. It was individual bases. A sister came over to give the old lady hair cuts. I was a live in for the summer time.

I understand why Villagegirl did not want to feed a married man. She trying to say he was able to take care of himself. I recall this petty bull crap all the time. Yet someone who could do with a helping hand who was not elder status was neglected. I recall seeing that a lot! Frankly I just hate elders and their wives as well as Overseers. It was all bull, half of them were lazy and worthless judgemental door knocker. Willing to volunteer other people's children while their children did NOTHING! Fond memories here in the Northwest. Hated every overseer!
