wt had translated "parousia" as presence instead of "coming".
it has explained time and again that in 1914, jesus came invisibly and since then, we are living in the last days under his invisible presence.. now i was a bit puzzled if that would really be the appropriate translation after reading matthew 28:19, 20.. 19 "therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the father and of the son and of the holy spirit,20and teaching them to obey everything i have commanded you.
and surely i am with you always, to the very end of the age.".
I really do not read the NWT. Did you quote from NWT because Holy Spirit is capitalized?
Okay, If I remember right presense is still some one in front of you. Someone you can see. If you look up the verses about Jesus presence it does not change because you will see him. The scripture does not say invisible presence.
It just a silly concept because everyone knows we can not see Jesus but believe.

I enjoyed reading Barts first book and second book but along came the Others. He was just leading every one to read the book of Thomas and the other ones. Anyhow, it been years and I think he lost something along the way. He changed and miss the old Bart. I just thought he was one of the best bibical historical writers of our times.
I can see the JW qouting Bart Jesus is an angel concept. Bart probably got the thought from a WT.

Doctrines change but I think the women represents other religions. Religion represent false teachings. They keep themselves clean by not defile themselves with Christendom. The Jehovahs Witnesses have not defiled themselves with false doctrines like Trinity or Christmas.

I can remember attending eight day assemblies evey year.
When girls were forbidden to wear pants to school.
When majority of women stayed at home to take care of their children.
T.V. had big tubes in them.
I Had one of those IBM typewriters.
And I thought special street work was fun! At least I think it was called working the streets.Now they ride buses.

I think we should hallowed God's name stating sanctified really changes the concept. I remember sanctified was like declare it or let people known according to the JWs.
