  Weird crazy rules imposed by your local Elders.

  we all know the sort of thing..... in many congregations, specific "rules" creep in...introduced by the local elders that become set in stone.. years ago, i heard of a congregation that sat down during the first song of the evening but stood for all others (the co changed that very soon after).

  then there were the older accounts of congs that had rules to make the public speakers wear only white shirts.... in one cong now, i heard that brothers can only be used for sound or microphones if they do a minimum of 5 hours per month in the ministry!.

  another cong has ruled that all appointed men must pioneer for at least one month each year in order to remain qualified.. .

  Years ago a higher up local elder shunned my brother because his shirt would not stay tucked in. George Burns would gossip about him after the meetingsk. The problem with this area is they are guilty of worshipping elders. The Burns men next generation followed daddy! Too dumb to not get out and growls at anyone that does not match up to theur janitorial status.After all only janitors can make the time for KH godship. :-) They were in their own world! At least they can brag about that high school education.

  Elders look around the KH as if they are Almighty God,J. They make rules then watch who dare to walk in and break them! :-)

  Silence after stating my confusion about "144,000"

  the other night, i was told about a question that a friend's bible study had asked them.

  the bible study asked: "if jesus is perfect, why does he need the 144,000 to help him rule?

  " this friend does not know how to answer this question.

  Revelation 20:4 does not say just 144,000 will get the rewards, it has no number. Happy are those who are at the first resurrection because there will be no second death! Now that is good enough to want to be apart of the first resurrection. Maybe that is why other churches have happier people!

  What church would only want a few of their members to be a part of the first resurrection where the majority will be at the second resurrection. First resurrection,rewards, has no death.

  That really is a messed up doctrine! And there is no bibical foundation to support WT doctrine.

  How would anyone know if people were resurrected!

  Unless your in a religion that makes up bull: Russell is channeling to the remaining GB meat at due season! Crazy! :-)

  Anyhow,as far as I am concerned followers of Jesus are the bride and will be part of the first resurrection.

  The fact that you think getting less than 30mpg is 'great' is scary and a huge problem with the USA

  This isn't free way driving. On the Freeway, it can get close to 40 MPG. For a GM sedan, yes, 28.9 around town, stop and go, is fabulous. Some GM sedans get 17 MPG.

  I drive Chevy truck! No kids here but need to carry things home for my fixer upper house. Never ending job! Sure do like your pretty car and the green is so pretty.

  my mentally in jw wife is trying to organize a "princess party" for my 4 year old daughter and her little cousins and friends.

  she was looking at prices of a tent for the backyard party in case it rains.

  she asked the hardware store how much and they said 90 dollars for the day.

  Charge him for eating your food and sitting on your sofa! Using your toilet paper!

  Tell your wife to grow up and never borrow anything from dear elder daddy any more.

  It makes you look bad: can not provide for your family basic needs.

  In fact limit any contact with him. He just a Fing nut case.

  Report his greedy attitude to other elders, and claim him un fit to be a good role model for the congregation.

  Your wife does sound a little mental maybe it runs in that family.

  Some day you might need to sabotage your marriage just to get your children out of their hands!

  That takes good planning.

  angels and women

  i was told by jw's that angels came down to earth before the flood, and had children with women.. i have a question about this and would like the sort of answer a jw would give so that i can be ready for them when they come to my door.. if one third of god's angelic staff were banished to earth, are they doing this now?.

  if not, what is stopping them?.

  if so, where are all these half angel children?.

  What is to stop these wicked angels doing what JW's believe that angels did before the flood?, Most of the posters did answer this question. Read Villagegirls post.

  Maybe

  Because the last fallen angels could care less about sex they are disturbing every part of the earth. World events and what is on the daily news. Just a guess how JW would answer. Maybe a legend of fallen angels enjoy living inside one human. Maybe they are the cause of why humans choose to shoot down a plane! Or suddenly someone does something they would normally not do. Maybe Satan roams around getting faithful ones to turn against Jesus Christ and using anything he can. Just like in Jesus days. Satans invisible powers are so strong his invisible presence can change a person against another! entices Evil spirits thrive on getting humans to hate one another. Faithful Christians understand that their are wicked forces that are invisible. The war between good and evil is understood in all Christian sects and not limited to JWs.

  and why send them here?

  Asking Christians why send them here is like doubting Gods judgement upon the fallen angels.

  Faithful Christians do not ask why because they believe. I am just stating that the majority of followers do not need to ask why God allowed something because it is their faith in God's judgement that they believe.

  Is is right to leave your job for the WT? In an assembly interview

  we had an assembly part here 6 months ago where a sister was interviewed by the co because she left her job to do more wt work, she talked about some jobs that she had recently been offered with good pay but turned these down.

  most listening to this is would be thinking that this sister is being blessed by jehovah for taking this stand, how much faith she has to do this and what can we do personally with our own jobs, made me almost feel guilty for having a job.

  anyway come forward 6 months to now, this family has had to move to another region because the husband couldnt find enough work to support his family here.
