Here's a funny story. When I was pregnant with my first son, I was doing a lot of reading on circumcision. I asked my husband what he thought. You know what he asked me? lol He asked me if he was circumcised! The man did not know he was circumcised. I guess he never thought about it.He had no problem with our boys not being circumcised. He was happy not to have them be in pain. I personally think he wouldn't have cared too much either way. I think we as woman think to much about how our boys will feel later in life, when in actuality they probably don't even think too much about it. I could be wrong. What's the concensus out there guys? Let us know!

We've decided to have a baby! (Advice needed)
by StinkyPantz ini know that many of you gave me the advice to wait until i'm done with school, but what can i say, i'm stubborn .
please share your pre-pregnancy and pregnancy tips that either made things smoother or things you wish you has done to make things easier.
i also want opinions on such things as epidurals, circumcision, nutrition, breast-feeding, money saving tips, etc.

Thanks so much to everyones replies. I am going to check out all the links you've added tomorrow .I have to go to work now, otherwise I'd check them out now.
Btw Analysis, hubby went to college before he became a witness. His mom became a witness when he was a teen, but his father wasn't one, so it wasn't pushed on him. After he graduated college, he started studying, then got baptised. He actually gave up a job offer to go out on the research vessel from WHOI because it would keep him away from the meetings and such. So sad. Right now he's really into a project at work ( making a virtual herbarium for seaweed ) so he has missed a lot of meetings working on that. I'm kinda hoping if I can show him info while he's not as active as he feels he should be,that maybe I'll get somewhere. It's worth a try. I do love him, we've been married 15 years and have 3 kids together. I really don't want my kids growing up with all the jw bull$hit. But I'm certainly not willing to break up my family over it.
Thanks again all!

There's no right time to have a baby. Some circumstances may make it better, but I say go for it if that's what you want. Just be aware that once the baby's there, you will have a constant companion, and won't have much time t yourself.
It's great that you're reading "What to expect when you're expecting".That book was like a bible to me when I was pregnant.
Breastfeeding....great if you can do it. I breastfed all three of my boys, and it was wonderful experience.
Circumcision....whatever you decide is fine. I decided not to have my boys circumcised. I couldn't bear the thought of my babies going through that pain for no real reason. The fact that they wouldn't remember it had no bearing on my decision..I knew that I'd remember it! My husband is circumcised, and my kids haven't even noticed. I asked my 14 year old if he feels different, and he said not at all. He just shrugged his shoulders and said "It doesn't matter at all...what difference would it make". And contrary to popular opinion, it's not hard at all for them to keep clean.
Congrats are in order! It will be the best decision you ever made. Kids are the best!!!

LOL...guess what Analysis?! My husband works in Woods Hole! He is surrounded by scientists every day. He has a BS in marine biology, and he works as head of periodicals at MBL ( Marine Biological Laboratory ). The kind of stuff you're talking about doesn't phase him. He believes in God creating everything, so I'm better off with a tactic that proves the religion is run by men, not by God. Thanks for all your info though!
Thanks to everyone.A lot of what you've given me will surely help.
Has anybody read any good books that I should get and leave hanging around the house? Has anyone read "Crisis of Conscience", and if it is good, were might I find a copy? Any sugggestions would be helpful. Thanks again guys. You're all great!!

(doesn't everyone say that their religion is not a "religion" but the "truth.

I saw her on Will and Grace, and it just showed that she really can't act. It was way too forced. ( I did like her in "Desperately Seeking Susan" ).
Madonna is a diva- bitch who is too big for her britches. Do I like some of her music? yes. I just don't appreciate her holier than thou attitude. When she thinks she is losing popularity, she reinvents herself to satisfy the masses. She thinks she is way more talented than she is too. There are so many people with loads more talent then she. She's just really good at manipulating her image and the people that like her.
That's just my take on her. Cheers!

Thanks hamas. That is a good idea to bring up the faithful and discreet slave. I've used the changing light tactic before, but because he believes the FDS, he just spews what they say ( such as they give us food at the proper time, god said the his light would reveal things when needed, blah, blah ). If I can make him see that they aren't god's chosen channel, then all that logic goes out the window.
The problem I find with most active jw's is that they won't even listen to anything contrary to what the FDS says. They think that if they listen even for a second they are apostate. It drives me mad!
Thanks again!

Unbelievable! That story makes my blood boil! It's really no wonder people think Americans are crazy. I'm American, and it makes me so sad when ignorant idividuals act like this, because they make us all look like lunatics! And the fact that they used the whole terrorist thing is absurd! How exactly is a breast-feeding mother terorizing anyone? I'm so sick and tired of people whining about every little thing they see as in injustice. Makes me think they must really lead a sad sad life if they have to complain about things such as this. Real injustice goes on every day, and they have the gall to pick on a woman trying to care for her child. Rubbish.
That's just my two ( or three or four ) cents!

My husband and I were discussing what makes some people become jw's last night. I was saying that if I hadn't grown up in it, I would have never been drawn to it at all. I'm not a very spiritual person. He told me he wasn't a spiritual person either. He said the only reason he became a witness was because it was the only religion tha made perfect sense. He said, and I quote, " this is the only religion that is logical, and makes sense ". This kind of surprised me. I don't find much that is logical at all. Then I thought that maybe, if I could gather up some info that could show him how illogical this religion is, then maybe I could show it to him ( though he probably won't read it ).
So what does anybody think the best thing to show him would be? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance for any help.
