  Reading CRISIS of CONSCIENCE

  im borrowing it from the library and am almost half way through.

  at times i have to put it down because it makes me so furious.

  i had a difficult time getting into it at first because its definitely not an uplifting book.

  I only recently read it also, after being "out" emotionally and mentally for about two years. I wanted to wait for sometime before reading it; I didn't want to cope with all the anger and bitterness the book would generate so soon after leaving the borg. It is truly horrid how those cold-hearted geriatrics play fast and loose with people's lives.

  However, my first thought on reading the title of the post was: "Shit!" I thought you were leaving the board!

  Your posts have helped so many people; and I am one of the guilty ones who many times reads your posts but doesn't respond. My apologies. I will try and correct this flagrant neglect in future.

  I did; even took notes! Glad to see I wasn't the only one! A CO's wife I knew and liked was also trying to get through the volumes, but I know of no others who did, particularly elders - and the elders in that congregation would have been only too willing to brag about it had they actually done so! As it was, I was just an upstart sister out to embarrass the brothers !

  i an reading a book by a writer: eckhart tolle, called: the power of now - a guide to spiritual englightenment.

  i like the book very, are there anybody that have read this book?

  Yes, I read The Power of Now, I think it was JamesThomas who recommended it. A great book.

  Tolle has a second book out entitled "Stillness Speaks". I want to read that one also.

  i was still an active jw but was drawn to the amazing conversations (and fights) on jwd.

  h2o was dwindling and the refugees were coming here.

  Your WT reviews sure helped me when I first started lurking here. I couldn't believe how blind I had been for so long. I knew, deep down, something wasn't right with either me or the WTS, but your comments and insights cleared up a lot of the mental fog I was wading through.

  Back from my trip and thought you all locked me out

  well i got back today after a terrible trip home - long - uncomfortable and i was very tired.. and then i tried to log in.. (((xenawarrior))) was great and tried to help.

  simon offered a suggestion that didn't work.. i finally rebooted for the 10th time, cleared the cache for the 20th time and presto i'm baaaack.

  now you didn't think it was that easy to get rid of me now did you?.

  22 versions of Ave Maria? My good ol' dub mother told me she wants to have Ave Maria played at her funeral . And here I thought strokes incapacitated a person's brain functions, not corrected them!

  And yes, fresh out of dubdom I was a bit taken aback when I first saw your post name, but then I thought it was cool.

  What horrid stories, though unfortunately I have no difficulty in believing them. In dubdom love and compassion will always take a back seat to policy and procedure.
