April 4?? That's Palm Sunday! I have other plans!
Do the dubs have to go twice to the kh on Sunday, or are they making up the meeting?
That was always the worst part of the memorial.... FOUR meetings in one week! Arrghhh...
i think it's april 4th.

GO RUDY!
those of you who are now x-jws, did you ever lead a double life while you were "in"?
did you have "worldly" friends, watch r rated movies, drive fast cars and do other things you weren't supposed to do, yet believed you were a "good" jw because you belived in the truth, "put in time", and attended meetings?
if you did, how long did it take you to see the truth about the truth and leave?
I did. I got caught too, smoking. I was turned in by a wannabee elder ministerial servant, then sob storied my way out of a judicial meeting and only had to meet with one Bethel-based elder privately, repent, and bring him home to my parents house for dinner. Then all was forgiven. It's amazing what a career Bethelite will do to enjoy an unrushed, friendly, home-cooked meal before the book study.
I actually liked that elder. He is dead now, but he was a good guy. I hope I see him again someday.
.
he hasn't posted since last june, i was wondering if anyone is still in contact with him.. his story really touched me... i'm so glad he got his babies back from those jw grandparents.
i was just wondering how they all were doing..
He's probably too tired to post
LOL!!
It's just that of all the stories I've read, there was something about his that really resonated. I am so glad he won, in so many other cases the grandparents would have won.
I just finished a grad term paper on court cases where religion was a factor in custody battles, and I got an eye opener of how the courts will protect the jw's freedom to the exclusion of the child's welfare. It was, actually, quite sickening, so when I see people like Larry win, I'm glad.

hello and greetings from downunder land.
so if this is a place where x jehovah's witnesses talk about stuff and are not promoting the religion why are there links to sites that promote everything witness????
or have i misunderstood what this site is about?
Hey cool, another purple person!
Welcome to the forum... yes this is a good place to find out the truth about the truth. Pull up a keyboard and stay awhile.
Hugs,

a little background on me.
i have never been a jw or had any desire to be one.
i definitely have no desire to join.
I came away from the tours with the feeling that this was some sort of cult.
That's because it is.
Adherents think that the Watchtower society is "God's visible organization on earth." So a visit to HQ is almost like a pilgrimage.
i had to take my dad to the va hospital for a doctor's appointment and in almost every waiting room there was magazines not even recent issues.
you have to wait for freaking ever at the va hospital so i decided to do my civic duty and i went around this huge hospital collecting magazines and would throw them in the nearest trash can.
nobody cared until i got on the 4th floor.
I will report you for assault
Wouldn't that make a great headline: "Elderly Jehovahs Witness Attacks Innocent Man in Hospital"
LOL
you're out somewhere, shopping maybe or in a restaurant or bus queue, whatever.. you've not been to the meetings for a couple of years, you are now an inactive person.
you might even have da'd yourself or got df'd.. you suddenly realise you are facing or stood next to someone that you know is a jw.
you also know that they know that you were once a jw too.. the person greets you and starts up a conversation with you.
You could say:
"Oh no, my life is so much better now. I have much less stress and am for the first time experiencing unconditional love from people whose love doesn't depend on whether I share the same beliefs as they do. I also have a much better relationship with God."
'couldn't be done without the holy spirit' is the phrase that i have seen spouted by loyal dubbies.
no doubt appearing subtly or explicitly in one or more of the watch tower publications.
i'm wondering, if you could think back to when you were preaching, especially if you were pioneering, what were your personal motivating factors, what did you tell yourself, and was there a source of that suggestion?
My mother dragged me kicking and screaming.
