I would have been couragous
if you hadn't pinned me down with fear
Sorry to be so dramatic,
but that is what I've learned here
The urgency of life surges as
life hangs in the balance
and it was up to me to save it
and it was up to us to change it
even though for me it stood still
while everyone else kept spinning
and of course I knew
the blood was on my hands
stained with the words I never spoke
to save a life
paralyzed and unglaciated
engulfed and choked up by the words
that took away my voice and were never heard
Yes I would have been couragous
if you hadn't pinned me down with fear -

AUSTRALIA | Jehovah's Witnesses and Watchtower Society Appear Before Child Abuse Inquiry | Thursday 11 April, 2013
by jwleaks injehovah's witnesses say it is not their responsibility to report child sex abuse to police unless mandatory reporting legislation is in place.. a victorian inquiry on thursday heard that when a jehovah's witness leader hears allegations of abuse they are directed immediately to contact the society's legal department to check their obligations under state law.. jehovah's witness legal counsel rachel van witsen said elders were not expected to know their legal obligations.. "this is done to ensure elders fully comply with any legal requirements that may be applicable in the state in which they reside," she said.. "in victoria if there was mandatory reporting the immediate advice would be to report that immediately.".
the society's director terrence o'brien said the decision to take the allegations to police lay with the victim.. "without mandatory reporting we don't feel that as ministers of religion that's our obligation to do that," mr o'brien said.. however, the organisation would encourage the victim to report it and would co-operate fully with police, he said.. ms van witsen said elders would make an exception if they felt the child was threatened.. "we would report that to appropriate authorities," she told the inquiry.. "we're about stopping child abuse.".
two ministers have been removed from the society for child sex abuse in 40 years of records, the parliamentary inquiry heard.. http://news.ninemsn.com.au/national/2013/04/11/20/59/jehovah-s-witnesses-stay-in-line-on-abuse.

We don't feel as ministers that it is our responsibility but if we "felt" the child was threatened we would of course report it?
ANYTIME a child comes forward with allegations of sexual abuse, or any kind of abuse, wouldn't you consider that child threatened?
I would

WHY DOES HE HAVE BETTER WAYS TO SPEND HIS TIME???????? It shouldn't upset me but if you believe your own way is the only way to salvation then what could be a better use of your time than saving lives??? Why would that be a "waste" even if he were unsuccessful?

100 Years of Disappointment on the Horizon
by mrquik ineven as an elder, i had doubts as to this being "the one true religion".

Its sad but as a small child, I was a born-in, ultra witness family, babtized at 10...I used to wonder if Armegeddon would come while we were in a meeting and we would come out and it would already be paradise, I used to walk out and look around to see if it had come...sometimes it would be a really nice dayand I would wonder if it had happened...I didn't want to be afraid and my Mom had told me that we may not have to see the horrible things or that Jehovah would "not let these things be called to mind"...anyway this discussion reminded me of that...I never questioned anything ever until my early 30's yet as a child I remember my Mom telling me that the new system would come before the people of 1914 had all died and while I never remember doubting anything else, I remember thinking that we would see because if time went on after that then we would know if that was true...it makes me feel sentimental actually, sorry for rambling

The Florida Concentration Camp for little Boys .. At least 50 bodies found
by fulltimestudent inthis is a terrible story, as i believe from other reports that places like this were common in the usa.
(as well as, the uk, ireland, canada, australia and god knows where else).you can only wonder how no-one else in authority knew about this.
i think they did, and the authorities of that time were prepared to do nothing and say nothing.. web reference : http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/a-concentration-camp-for-little-boys-dark-secrets-unearthed-in-kkk-county-8518009.html.

This is truly one of the most disgusting things I have read in a long time. I went to the website because it was of interest and couldn't finish watching the video there. If any of the men carrying out these heinous acts are still alive I hope they are prosecuted to the fullest extent the law allows for this behavior. I couldn't believe how recent this torture occured...unbelievable and disgusting. My mother and uncles were raised in an orphanage and while there are mixed reviews about their life there it was nothing like this....same time period too....My heart aches for those that endured these horrible conditions.

I did my first presentation when I was 3...with the paradise tract. When I was a young kid, maybe 7? I happened to knock on the door of a newspaper columnist for the local paper and he wrote an article about me (didn't use my name) but I remember my Mom talking about it. He wrote something about the little girl who looked like she would rather be playing barbies or riding her bike than going to the doors of strangers to talk about religion...I wish my Mother would have saved the article. I would like to have it. At the time I didn't feel sorry for myself at all. I was babtized on my iniative at the tender age of 10. I do feel a lttle sorry for that little girl now though...
