  i'm lucky enough to live in a part of the us that many would call "pastoral.

  " true to the label, i pass a small farm on the way to talking my daughter to school each day.

  the other day i notice the owners had their small flock of sheep out to pasture along witha black goat.. for some reason i had a flashback to all the references the society uses re sheep, other sheep, sheeplike and goatlike etc.

  A number of commentaries point out that referring to the parable as 'the parable of the sheep and goats,' that this is somewhat of a misnomer since the sheep & goats metaphor is dropped after verse 33.

  And, in translating the bible into Chinese you meet a problem - there is only one word for both sheep and goats, and that is yang .

  the congregation i'm from is having their meeting tonight.

  my husband said that his brother in law, who is an elder, called and said that there were going to be some big announcements tonight and to bring a notepad, because you will want to take notes.. does anybody know about this and what are the announcements?

  There were several WT letters read. (All of which have been made available here.)

  3. Adjustments to the Pioneer Service School (6 days instead of 2 weeks).

  Oh, and there is the increasing use of the terms "faithful slave" and "governing body," all the while they telling everyone else to not bring attention to themselves, but rather, be honoring God.

  justin martyr (100-165 a.d.) wrote marcus aurelius that jesus was born at bethlehem as you can ascertain also from the registers of the taxing.

  okay, here's the issue.

  some people, even some jws, believe that in the new world they will be reunited with their spouses.

  jesus, however, said that in the resurrection there would be no marriage or giving in marriage.

  Did anyone mention John 5:28, 29?

  Jesus said the resurrection would include "those who practiced good things and those who practiced vile things."

  The Society gets around that by saying the things "practiced" (good or bad) are practiced after being resurrected. But the verb tenses used by Jesus do not support that idea. The most natural reading of those verses is that those practicing said things are those who would be resurrected, either to life or judgment.

  The Society's understanding of that verse(s) derives from their insertion of "[his]" into Romans 6:7.
