The Lord's Evening Meal - How Often?

27 also, he took a cup and, having given thanks, he gave it to them, saying: drink out of it, all of you; 28 for this means my blood of the covenant, which is to be poured out in behalf of many for forgiveness of sins.. (note that matthew's rendition leaves out the "keep doing this .

The Apostle Paul was taught a Myth !! not the "Truth".
by Phizzy inthe exact chronology of paul's damascene experience cannot be firmly established, but certainly a number of years had passed since the death of jesus.
perhaps only three or four years, maybe more.
we do not have an accurate history of this time.. but, it is evident that by the time paul was converted a cult of jesus was flourishing within judaism, hence his opposition, as it seemed very subversive to his pharisee mind.. what was this cult built upon ?

Rattigan350:
This is very elementary. It is to be one once a year because it is based on the precedent of the passover being done once a year.
You don't need any new testament quotes to know that.
You have summed up nicely the WT's whole argument as to why it is supposed to be an annual memorial. Unfortunately, Paul and the Corinthians seemed to have failed to see it that way.
Like I mentioned to "designs," I have no problem with someone choosing an annual memorial. But the command to "keep doing this" and "as often as you [do this]" is just too ambiguous to say that an annual remembrance was meant. Moreover, the practice of the Corinthians, as described in 1 Cor 11:17-20, just doesn't agree with an annual observance.
Paul is addressing questions raised by the Corinthians, 11:17-34 being about "when you come together in a congregation." The context really wasn't about the Lord's Evening Meal per se. It was about "divisions" among them when they had their gatherings. Paul was saying that, under those 'divided' conditions, having the Lord's Evening Meal was inappropriate, since the 'bread' and 'wine' symbolized something Jesus did for all of them. Therefore, the 'divisions,' selfishness, and unconcern for one another were a contradiction to what the Lord's Evening Meal represented. But behind that discussion is the presupposition that the Lord's Evening Meal was a regular feature of "when [they] come together in a congregation."
Thanks for your comments, Rattigan.

Compare chapter 9.5 of the Didache (here, but you have to scroll down to chap. 9). Such qualifications are not new. Although, again, the NT says nothing about it. Any 'rules' about it have to be deduced.
Curiously, the WT makes the annual Passover a hard and fast model that must be followed. Yet the Passover regulations allowed children and others such as slave to participate (as long as they were circumsized - See Exodus 12:43-49), something strongly discouraged by the WT (even though they consider the "great crowd" to be analagous to "slaves." (See here.)

The post is more directed at the WT's assertion that it HAS to be annually, and that there is no other way to see it. In fact, I have no argument with a choice to have it annually. The argument above is constructed to show that the early Christians in Corinth (and Paul himself) did not understand Jesus' command to require only an annual remembrance.
As a side point, it is also interesting that Paul would tell the Corinthians, "as often as you [do this]." Paul assumes that the Corinthians have a certain amount of autonomy in their selection of when they hold their Lord's Evening Meal. This is far different from the 'top-down' micro-managing that occurs within the WT.
