Regarding them being bothered about not eating Jesus flesh, or drinking his blood, get them to read John Chapter 6 where Jesus tells you that you have too if you want everlasting life, and get them to ask the Witnesses to explain that one away!

by NCO income this july, i will have been out of the jw's for 20 years.
and it has been quite a long time since i've really spent any serious time studying up on jw news and doctrines although i do still read here occasionally.
but after today looks like i've got some work to do.. my first sergeant called me this morning asking for my help to fix his dad's truck as i'm an auto technician in my civilian job.

So what do your Jehovah's Witness friends and loved ones think of the generation teaching?
by garyneal inafter the little skit at the last assembly where one brother was asking another for understanding about the generation teaching i thought, "wow, these people will believe anything the watchtower tells them.
" the 'more mature brother' practically said verbatim everything the watchtower said as his explanation.
evidently, this is one of the sources of the increased 'murmuring' that the talked warned against.. so, has anyone brought this up to their witness friends and/or family?

Been a while now since I was in, I seem to remember though that a lot of the plagues and prophesies of the Revelation where taught to have allready occurred.
I certainly remember and never quite believing, that the final and climatic verse of the book of Daniel, the most happyfying event that would occur at the end of the days, nothing better than this will ever happen to mankind was..............................the 1922 convention at Cedar Point Ohio.
Now the thing is, its more than just this "generation passing away" business, its the fact that when God released his people the Hebrews from captivity, led by Moses into the promised land, this was a pattern for an even greater fullfillment by the greater Moses at the end of the days.
Now those Eygptians suffered plagues that left them in no doubt whatsoever, what was happening, who God was, and who where his people.
The plagues didnt happen to one generation who where left thinking, "whats all this about then?" as fireballs fell from the sky, only to die and their grandchildren to recieve the answer to the question only thier dead Grandparents knew.
Like wise, if all these signs and wonders of Revelation have occurred, and the folk that witnesses them have died and gone, what was the purpose? who has learned anything?, what will it mean for the grandchildren of the 1914 generation who never experienced these "Biblical" events, when something does happen, unless God goes through the whole process again in order to remind mankind, they are likely to think we are being invaded by Aliens or some such.
I wonder how many Witnesses realise the happiest event in mankinds history occurred back in 1922 ?, never mind the Billions of others alive today.
When God does act, people are going to be aware of it, they will be in no doubt as to what is occurring, and it wont need a cloud of Pioneers with Revelation its Grand Climax books helping to explain whats going on!

this comes from a seniour elder and i therefore take it a bit more seriously than some sources.. if this is true then it kinda links in with the reduction of the half awake and the watch slightly-higher-mound-look-out magazines.. has any one else heard anything?.

Emblem stupidity, and the bizarre dance of the confused memorial-taker
by cedars inwell, i went along to the memorial with mrs cedars.
it was my first since my "awakening" just less than a year ago.
apparently i made a lot of people happy by being there (even if it was only building up false hopes), the most important of which were my family.

I agree with Bobcat and John Chapter 6 that just as all in the wilderness with Moses ate the Manna, (else they died of starvation, Hebrews and Egyptians, not just thePriests), the "bread from Heaven" and his blood, have to be eaten by all Christians.
Now even if the JWs where correct that the emblems are only for a select few, why this ritual of passing it around and the embarassment of an "annointed" who then has to partake in front of everybody, " hey everybody, look at me!, Iam allmost a god!"
Why cannot they have the memorial for those its intended for, to be taken in a faithfull and discreet way?
Now having read that the passing around and refusal of Christs sacrifice is a Satanic ritual, and I can certainly see why, this must be the most insulkting thing anybody could do to God and Jesus, refuse his sacrificed flesh, so I wonder who is behind this ritual?, and not just the JWs, but getting as many non-interested folk off the street to also insult Jesus this way.

J.W.'s and swine flu question
by hubert inmy daughter told me that she refused the swine flu vaccine, even though she is in a risk category and could receive it.. since we know that the watchtower society banned small pox vaccinations for years when it first became available, i am curious to know if the watchtower society is doing this again, with the swine flu vaccine.. has anyone heard of this happening now?
's being discouraged into getting the swine flu vaccine by orders of the w.t.

Same as the internet is waking people up to the negative aspect of the JWs, people are waking up to lots of truth about the world that those that run it, hide from us.
One such being Vaccines and thier dangers, pushed on us by a drug industry whose primary concern for us is how much money they can get from us.
We had this Swine flu scare back in the 70s, if you YouTube swine flu 1970s you will see the adverts, then maybe you can google Guillian Barre Syndrome and learn how more people died or where crippled for life from that Swine Flu Vaccine, that the flu itself.
So, probably nothing to do with the Witnesses, just the general population.
If you dont want to get flu, take Vitamin D, lots of it.

What's the strangest thing you've heard someone seek counsel with the elders about?
by keyser soze inpersonally, i never went to the elders with anything(not voluntarily, anyway).
but a friend of mine once asked a couple of elders whether it would be acceptable for him and his wife to make a sex tape, for their own personal viewing.
needless to say, the idea was frowned upon..

Thankyou blindnomore, back then it wasnt such a common event, but nowadays with the breakdown of the traditional family structure, I belive many many children will be suffering to at least some extent from the lack of an even basic family structure, and the long term damage to society as a whole will become very apparant.
The verse somewhere says God will bring about his destruction of this system of things because of the prevelance of fornication.
Unless of course it means Spiritual fornication I belive its not so much God doesnt want to see folk having sex outside of marriage, as the results and damage to innocent Children as a result of such.

I was physically and emotionally abused and neglected as a child from when my Grandmother died when I was 3, so had to go back to mother and her new husband who plainly didnt want me.
I would come home from school, was allowed to watch Bewitched or Lost in Space, but had to go up to my room before stepfather came home, alone for 14 hours every day, no wonder I had great difficulty conversing with people, I thank the JWs that they taught me how to communicate by giving me something IO wanted to talk about.
Stepfather used to send me to the hardware store with sixpence to buy a stick to be beaten with. Other times he would kick me in the stomach or repeatedly beat me around the head. I had purple marks around my neck for a week from where he strangled me, and when I genuinely thought I was about to die, nowadays the neighbour who asked what the marks where would have reported him and he would have gone to prison.
I was 5 when I experienced the happiest time of my childhood, life even, 3 years spent in a Childrens home in rural Kent run by the Church of England Childrens Society.
As a result I have never been able to form an emotional attachment to anyone, I have been diagnosed with Reactive Attachment Disorder, previously I could never understand why I had to get rid of every girlfriend I ever had, and that includes a Pioneer discribed as the most beautifull sister on the circuit, something Ive kicked myself for ever since, for it doesnt mean I like being alone, I hate it, its like a living suicide where unless I have to get out of bed for work, I will sleep all day just so I can have a rest from the nightmare of being permanantly alone.
Sorry to the sisters I hurt, there was something wrong with me that I didnt know about, dont worry, Iam suffering more than you ever did.

For a few years after falling away, I would still go to the Memorial out of respect for Christ, until I actualy looked at John chapter 6 and what it actualy states from Jesus own lips.
So since then, I hold my own memorial where I eat and drink the emblems, not because Iam annointed, because it states everybody must else they will not get everlasting life.
I now feel somewhat guilty of all the times I said no to Jesus sacrifice, I have read that its a Satanic ritual to refuse the emblems.
