Are Texas women cows?
by kurtbethel inlikely not, but this one is acting like one, and it's a good thing.. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2223665/mother-wins-guinness-world-record-breast-milk-donation-pumping-86-galllons-help-premature-babies.html.
a mother in north texas has been awarded a guinness world record for donating breast milk.. alicia richman, 28, from granbury, pumped over 86 gallons between june 2011 and march 2012 for donation to the mothers milk bank of north texas, a nonprofit that supplies neonatal intensive care units.. the vast quantity equates to 11,000oz - to put it into context, a typical newborn's feed is around 3oz.. she told cbs dfw: 'i pumped at work, on vacations, in the car.
and i never had to buy formula.'.

Now bareing in mind that at the end of the 1000 years Satan gathers the Nations together to wage war on the Holy city.
Also bare in mind Isaiah 65 talks about people still dying though 100 years old.
Also supposedly dead people will be weeping and Gnashing thier teeth because they didnt get in.
I wonder if this is what happens, after Jesus returns, his people are gathered to Literal Jerusalem, just as the Hebrews were gathered there previosuly.
They will not die because they will be able to drink from the River of Life that emits from Eziekiels Temple.
People that did not qualify as Christians and that survived the tribulations, will be living in the world just as they do now, but without the Devil stirring things up, so it will be a lot better for them they will however see how they have missed out by not being in the Promised land, hence they will be living people who weep and gnash their teeth outside the city walls.
After the 1000 years, Satan gathers these people, these Nations together, not a load of JWs who failed some mysterious second test.
Gods destruction of disobedient mankind comes at the end of the 1000 years, the destruction of Mankind at the beginning reads to me only those men who actually take up arms against Jesus and his Kingdom, in much the same way the Egyptian army was destroyed, but ordinary Egyptians carried on living.
So to sum up, I think what happened to the Hebrews living in Palestine, is a pattern for what will happen to Christians living as subjects of Jesus here on Earth during his 1000 year reign, both amidst the unGodly Nations of the outside world, and Eziekiels Temple will be in the role of the original Temple but in its full capacity of bringing literal life to its people.
That way, just as the original Nations got to see how much better off mankind was with Jehovah as thier God, the rest of Mankind will even more see the Justification of God by the example of the Christians living forever right in front of thier eyes.
If everone else was dead, how would they get to see they made the wrong decision in rejecting the Christ? All the Nations will know in the end.

long time study
by happy-n-alive inso i am 20 now and i had my first study when i was 14. no jehovahs witness relatives and i am currently in my second book with one more chapter to go.
the reason it took so long is because it started out very sporadic andd short.
anyways, a friend and i were talking and i said i dont think i want to get baptise anytime soon and she said they may want to 'see a return on their investment' -_- so my question is if any witnesses ever got pushy with you about taking the next step after you have studied with them a long time.
-

No need to feel guilty about wasting thier time by rejecting thier invitation, just get them to reject you, its so easy, you could pretend that you really really want to get Baptised, and they will say no, go away.
There are plenty of questions you can put to them that you will find here on this forum.
Here are some points I would raise if they ever bothered to ask me to come back.
"In John Chaper 6, Jesus specifically states that if you want everlasting life, you have to eat his flesh and drink his blood, you will not get life if you dont, so I will obey Jesus by partaking at the Memorial each year, is that OK?"
"1914 was arrived at by Russells measurements of a Satanic pyramid, is it right we should belive what the Devil says and therefore call Jesus a liar when he says, "Truly I say to you, this Generation will by no means pass away""
" If I see a JW commit a gross sin, is it true that I would be sinning if I failed to report it?, in which case doesnt that mean I should share my knowledge of the Watchtower society riding on the back of the Beast when it joined the United Nations?"
"Why do you claim the ressurection occurs at the beginning of the 1000 years whereas it states here in Revelation that it happens at the end?"
They will soon realise you are not gullible enough for them.

Was the Christ invisibly present in 1914?
by wannabe inwas jesus invisibly present in 1914?.
at this point, some may ask, what exactly are, the appointed times of the nations?
notice from the words of jesus, this trampling first began at the murder of abel by his brother cain, who was the, 'seed of satan the devil.
-

Yes, Jesus was present from 1914, the reason you cant see him, well, its like hes out in the Wilderness for now, if you go with the Witnesses though, they will surely soon lead you to him, in fact LOOK!!,, its even written in scripture, Matthew 24, signs of the Last days!
23 At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah!’ or, ‘There he is!’ do not believe it. 24 For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. 25 See, I have told you ahead of time. 26 “So if anyone tells you, ‘There he is, out in the wilderness,’ do not go out;

WT article on Esther: dead wrong.
by JeffT ina few weeks ago the pastor at our church gave the sermon from the book of esther.
this sparked some old wt memories.
i looked through my old bound volumes and found this gem of misguided scholarship from the writing department.

Taking in mind my view that Babylon the Great is Jerusalem, not Rome, (Compare Matthew 23v35 and 37 with Revelation 18v24)
I sometimes wonder if the book of Esther, isnt really a celebration of how God worms his people into postions of power so they can kill a lot of people,
but that it is really a Prophetic Story and warning to the Christian nations how a certain faction of Jews will worm thier way into positions of power, and then get those Gentile nations they have infulltraited to kill thier own people.

How can anyone really be a 100% confident atheist given the paranormal and occult?
by yadda yadda 2 ini don't believe the bible is inerrant nor do i hold a 'christian worldview' any longer as my profile details say (which i am unable to update on my profile), but i just can't see how anyone can be absolutely 100% confident there is nothing out there we can call a 'god' or spirit creature in the face of endless first-hand accounts of paranormal and occult experiences that felt as 'real' to the person who experienced them as anything else in their lives.. there are untold reports of ghosts, faith-healing, ouija boards, seances, spirit mediums, stigmata, mystical born-again experiences, speaking in tongues, and then there's hypnotism, ufo sightings, poltergeists, remote viewing, etc, etc.
ok, so its mostly only anecdotal evidence, but the amount of it is so overwhelming it is practically corroborating evidence.
in the face of all this, how can anyone categorically assert that there is nothing out there that is beyond ourselves that we might call a 'god' or spirit creature?
-
Nambo
Dont let the sceptics sway you Yadda, as with most people and thier world views, they do not want such to be compromised and so will allways resist even considering any conflicting viewpoints.
Cofty,s reasoning for instance, is this a proof? in which case maybe he doesnt believe in the Holocaust either as there remains unclaimed a huge monetary prize for anyone who can produce evidence of even a single body being buried at Treblinka where it is claimed 870,000 people were murdered and buried there by the Nazis.
I belive similar monetray offerings or available for proving 911 was as we are told.
I work at the Houses of Parliament Yadda, if you ever come visit, I will tell you a few evidences to back up your world view, I personally have seen one, smelt another and had £1000 worth of damage done to my car by another that I managed to upset.
I work with people who have been physically accousted by these entities, others who have run away from big buck contracts on seeing figures walking out of walls. etc etc.
Re Ziddinas point, I dont think these disprove the existance of God, rather they disprove the teachings of man made religions like the Catolick church who along with the rest of us dont know the half of it.
My most compelling experience I wouldnt dare share on this board, though I have told one of the posters who I met in person, and she probably thought I was mad.

Another Music Topic - Best of Album of the Last 12 months?
by cantleave infor me nothing comes close to muse's "the second law" - imo muse are up there with the greatest rock bands of all time and this album is near perfect.. .
-
Nambo
I agree with Muse being one of the all time greats, but confess to being very disappointed with this latest album, to me it sounded like they had run out of ideas and just cobbled together bits of thier earlier stuff. Maybe its one of those albums you need to keep listening too, but I never had that trouble with their earlier stuff.
Last "latest" album I bought that I really liked was Niel Youngs "Living with War".
I tend to buy older stuff as and if I discover it, most atmospheric I recently found was http://haleybonar.bandcamp.com/track/the-water

Did you ever shun people when you were a dub? How did it feel?
by oldlightnewshite inokay, i don't know lots of people that were df'd, but of all the times i've encountered df people when i was a dub, they actually blanked me!
it was always something that i had fixed in my mind that the jws had dead wrong, even when i was an uber dub.
i remember several times when i used to arrive late at meetings, and i'd make a point of getting eye contact with the poor dub at the back sitting on the naughty step.

I only ever met one, from my congregation, he had got a job in the supermarket, I saw him and smiled and said "Hi", he just sort of half smiled and nodded back.
I think they are not being deliberately cold to Witnesses, I think they have been made to feel so guilty and unclean, that they are not allowed to speak to us, or maybe they are trying to not get us in trouble so it is a kindness on thier part.
(I say"us"writing from an active dub standpoint).

Out of the loop and needing some advice
by Flat_Accent inhello everyone, i'm not on here much these days, but thought this might be worth the post for you veteran x-dubbies to help me.. .
i've got a min servant and his wife coming over this sunday.
the brother has already called me up and invited me to his first public talk that day, which i respectfully declined.

So you going for the big one, try to end his faith in the JWs, God and the Bible all at the same time?
Why not just try chipping away at the JW bit, surely more chance of success than trying to bring his whole world crashing down at once.
You could ask him for instance about the signs of the last days, if they are all coming true?, such as the one about religions claiming the Christ has come before he actually does, saying hes "in the wilderness", thats why you cant see him at the moment, ask him which religion has fullfilled that prophesy.
Then ask him about the generation change.

Ziddina mentioned it, and I will mention it again.
"Friendship with the world is emnity with God", the JWs view the "World" as everyone not a JW.
You think you are lonely now, wait until you find you can have NO FRIENDS, except other JWs.
As a single woman, that means you will get to see other people at the meetings or when you go knocking on peoples doors, now and then you might be invited to a Witnesses house for dinner, but dont count on it, married Sisters will view you as a threat, you will join a great number of other single sisters that will far outweigh the number of single Brothers that are available, and they will be going for the younger sisters anyway.
This means, you will commit yourself to a lonely life of spinster-hood.
And when that lovely young man at work invites you to go for a meal, you will have to say no, because you will belive that is what God wants, instead you will go home to be alone and cry at how your life has gone by and you have been left behind.
I know because it has happened to me, I turned away countless gorgeous Women who asked me out, but I was "faithfull" to this organisation and now I reap my reward of being too old now to ever find Love and can look forward to a wasted life and then dying alone.
Finding God however, is a good thing, though hes not a Genie in a bottle who will grant you a wonderfull life right now.
The JWs do not have a copyright on God, you can buy a Bible, read it again and again, you can pray to ask God to be your friend, you can say "Grace" yourself at home, then maybe join a dating site or something and find a good Spiritual man, not religious, Spiritual, tell him you are shy and need bringing out of yourself.
You dont need the Witnesses to find God, in fact they will turn you away from him,
