  Is it me or is that ewatchman guy way too negative?

  has everyone heard of him, robert king?.

  i occasionally have a look on his site, at times when im not sure what i believe.

  i'm sliding towards atheism but i'm not completely sure either way.. the more reading i do of things of a scientific nature, the more i edge towards no god, but i like to analyse both sides of an idea.. anyway, whenever i read anything on kings website, it just seems he is a bit of doomsday cultist himself, i mean he has all these links to conspiracy sites, and all manner of negative scary articles about nuclear war and famine etc.

  Maybe they could go back to the Pyramid at Gaza, and remeasure the passageways and say, "Hey, Brother Russell only had a ruler, thats why he got it wrong, but with todays sopisticated electronic measuring equipment, we can catogorically state.:-

  1960's the watchtower pictures showed jesus clean shaven and with short hair {watch 1954 p.511 "why do watchtower books now show jesus with short hair and no beard?

  ....because he is shown that way in representations that are older than the traditional effeminate looking pictures..."}.

  yearbook 2011 p.57 "a bearded man named eric showed up at a congregation in the united states {oh god a bearded man!!!

  As witnesses did we ever have a normal family life?

  something i read about people born into cults and high control groups stuck with me.

  this was that we have never known normal family relationships our family life has always been abnormal.

  witnesses will argue that they spend time with their children and that they are constantly following bible based counsel on how to be good husbands, wives, parents and children.

  Admittedly my first congregation was the most Loving and Spiritual of all the congregations Ive seen, but as a worldly person coming into the troof, I was quite jealous of the lives of the young.

  Now obviously I didnt see or ever experience what it must have been like for young ones going to school with "evil worldy" kids, goodness, it was bad enough for kids who where in the world themselves, but in this particular congregation I saw the young ones living a social wirl.

  In the world you have a best mate or two, generally there will just be the two of us, once we left school I few of us would go around together on our motorbikes, going to see rock bands and getting drunk, in the Witnesses though, it was like non-stop parties or convoys of cars going out into the countryside for a picnic, great gangs of kids all getting on, nothing like this happens in the world, apart from the Scouts, (I was in the Woodcraft Folk), but there wasnt that bonding between us that the Witnesses kids seem to have, that sense of belonging.

  Once, us adults took the real younguns to the Fairfield Halls to see "Sooty in Space", thing is there wasnt really enough kids to go around, us grown ups had to share a kid, there was more of us than them.

  And then what was really funny, we bumped into a neighbouring congreagation doing exactly the same thing!

  Oh those where the days.

  AS for Christmas, apart from in the Childrens home where it was great, when I was with my "parents", I would be turfed out of the house to go and see my friends, when I complained that they wouldnt want to come out to play on Christmas day, I was told to "go out and make some new friends", so I would be wandering the streets alone, freezing cold, until I could return home. I hated Christmas.

  Reasoning From the Scriptures - are they working on an update?

  secondly, is anyone here aware of an update, due to the changing of the doctrine, this book is starting to become sprinkled with 'old light'........

  Thats a great video Fernando.

  Theres another thread which seems to have morphed into an "evil God of the Old Testament cannot be the loving God of the New Testament", to which I could have given my same following reply.

  If Jesus just says "ok everybody, you are all saved", its like, "cheers Jesus" and off we go on our merry way enjoying eternity in Paradise.

  If you are strapped into the electric chair on death row and about to be executed for your crimes, and Jesus turns up to swap places, just before they flip the switch, he dies, and you slip out the back door, you are going to be a lot more gratefull than the first senario.

  I wonder therefore if, the God of the old testament, the Mosaic Law, all the reasons we are classed as sinners in the New Testament, are all ways to make us aware that we cannot be saved by our own devices, that we are totally relient on Gods Grace, that when we think we deserve death, then Jesus gives us life instaed, we are so overcome with gratitude we learn to be the loving and unselfish people Jesus wants us to be.

  Might be a treason why the good and self-righteous are not shown in such a good light as the repentant sinners.
