The Governing Body - their own worst enemy!
by cedars ini've been giving some thought recently to what's going on in the minds of the individual governing body members, and what makes them tick.
the process of listening to their talks for my "getting to know you" youtube video series, though draining, has been very enlightening.
i now feel i know some of their individual personalities a little better than i did previously.. then there has been the tumultuous events of 2012. it's been interesting to note the way the governing body has responded to some of these issues, and how in most cases their responses have been woefully inadequate or even counter-productive as regards their long-term interests.. for example:.

Qualifiers are often necessary, such as when your evidence or your claim is open to doubt.
The observations are well rounded to me and leave very little to doubt if utilizing a mind not impeded by permafrost.
I also accuse you of bringing your r&f to your wordy essays and presenting them as facts...
You just contradicted your arguement.
it seems you, like many, have fallen neatly into place...
It appears you are the one who has fallen neatly into place. After all you are participating here.

So Many Newbies- Gotta Love It
by Tylinbrando inwhile many of the stories are sad, i can't help but feel some happiness that this forum exists and that it is a stepping stone for so many that are hurting and will be better for it on their way to recovery.. every day there are a handful of people that post for the first time, many of them stating they have been lurking for a long time.. i personally have had a dozen ask me for help because of the state of mind and affairs they find themselves in after making or being handed an exit from the watchtower.. i am grateful for this site.
i am grateful for the diversity of perspectives and the willingness for those here to always help.. the best therapy is human interaction with those who know exactly what pains us.. well done jwn.

My letter to elders. Just drafted... PLEASE tell me what you think... Greybeard
by Greybeard into: all elders in the grover beach congregation of jehovah witnesses, the watchtower corporation and governing body of "jehovah witnesses" .
from: gregg blasingame.

Sir82 is correct. You need to be specific in your intentions to sue INDIVIDUALS and the WBTS corporations. They will choose to hold the decision in abeyance if they are threatened knowing the WBTS will not back them up.

As a body of Elders, specifically regarding the 3 that will serve as your Judicial Committee, trust that they indeed do read every word of your letter. Otherwise they will be unable to make a response when questioned pointedly by the CO or Brooklyn Legal. It will probably get glossed over but there is the off chance something you say may stick with one of these 3 or the next 3 in the event of an appeal.
Letter writing is theraputic. That someone may be caught up with it is an ungiven bonus. Sharing your letter has the broadest effect and will help and serve others if they can put their eyes on it. I can guarantee you, this letter will be shared amongst several bodies of elders.
Thank you for sharing.

Research thoroughly now Kate
before you make your decision
because you WILL NOT be able to do that research openly
without setting yourself up for years of
emotional blackmail
once you are in the Organization.

How many non-believers on the inside
by biblecheck init's taken me about 7 years after leaving the watchtower, to become actively involved within the exjw communities.
as part of this i created a couple of videos to, hopefully, help some others.
but what amazed me was the number of people who have pm'd me via youtube who are still active members of the watchtower - who know it's not the truth - but haven't left.

Even amongst the "Elite" within the Organization, DOs, COs, Elders etc.; very few of them could make an arguementation for why they hold their beliefs or why they stay within the Organization. As so clearly indicated by RayPublishers Judicial Committee hearing displayed on YouTube, MOST of them will simply take the stance that "This is the "Truth" and whatever the Faithful Slave tells us to do we will do it" (even when in the back of their minds they are doubting it and know much of it is flat out WRONG)

I wonder when we will start to see a marked decline in their membership due to fading, disassosciations, disfellowshippings, and lack of new converts? A mass exodus would certainly stir the pot.
For every elder and family that leave on the premise of disillusionment(apostacy they will call it) its seems a handful of other congregation members follow suit while still others become totally inactive or simply start the fading process.
When a high control organization puts so much stock in the teachings and following of men, it really is no wonder many R&F follow the lead of the older men they have looked up to right out of the Organization.
I have had many Elders tell me one of their worst fears is losing their zeal and possibly their faith in the Organization(because that is really what it boils down to) and in so doing , negatively affecting the congregation and leading others to leave or slow down.
