  Men who lived almost a thousand years.....it makes me speculate!

  i was waking up out of a sound sleep and a complete thought presented itself to me.. i should write it down.. so here goes.. the bible says adam lived 930 years.

  methuselah lived 969 years.. now.... that led to other thoughts.... seems more likely the old stories of adam and methuselah use a word misunderstood by some later writer and maybe a confusion resulted.. maybe the word should have been moons.

  like the apache use to say, "i've lived many moons...".. after all, the word month is a corruption of the earlier word moonth which means 30 days.. the lunar calendar was a very popular means of counting time waaaaaay back in the olden days.. .

  AAWA is progressing well. It is only one group among many that is accomplishing awareness of Watchtower abuse. It is only one group among many that give support and direction to JWs seeking exit and ExJWs who are recovering from cult exit.

  I have enjoyed the silence about AAWA issues on this forum for the past 30 days, as it was taking away from what this forum normally provides.

  I would refrain from vilifying Simon or pointing to his bias. Simon offered much criticism that was warranted and valid and in fact may have been instrumental in resolving some of AAWA's most glaring start up issues.

  The day after Armageddon how will JW survive the first week?

  i was thinking about this today when i was mowing the grass.

  when you look at the picture the borg always show of armageddon everything is destoryed.

  i mean nothing left everything gone.

  the panthers provided testimony supporting the projected economic impact.

  a representative of the jehovahs witnesses told the commissioners that a multi-year deal to hold the annual church convention at the arena (known lately as the bb&t center) hinged on a new scoreboard.

  (why the witnesses need a digital scoreboard might invite satirical speculation but, given the perilous state of my own mortal soul, ill leave that to the readers.).

  many of you know what has been transpiring with my daughter and the abuse she suffered for years at the hands of a congregation elder.

  the abuser is still incarcerated awaiting trial.. today she had a substitute teacher that reminded her of the abuser.

  there was a confrontation and she had a breakdown.

  Many of you know what has been transpiring with my daughter and the abuse she suffered for years at the hands of a congregation Elder. The abuser is still incarcerated awaiting trial.

  Today she had a substitute teacher that reminded her of the abuser. There was a confrontation and she had a breakdown. She has been taking a break from therapy and by all appearances doing great with straight As and being selected as Cadet of the Year.

  This episode has compelled both of us to recognize that therapy needs to be in full force once again and I have a call into her Victim Advocate for direction and recommendation.

  I have been alerted by many professionals that this is a lifelong project and even if all seems well there are triggers that will reach out and bite.

  All one really has to look at are the natural disasters that affect communities at times. without outside help the disaster would be even more catastrophic. I do not know any group of Elders that would be competent enough to take care of themselves let alone any group in their care for an extended length of time.

  An act of "god" would be imperative. considering the lack of evidence that this has happened in the past, it is extremely difficult to place confidence that it would happen in the future.

  You are completely spot on. Most JWs file this line of thinking under denial and excuse it by thinking, "Jehovah, will take care of us"

  I have spent six weeks in remote wilderness alone with a bare minimum of gear. It is not easy. I have speculated that most people I know would fair poorly under survival conditions and many have already died faced with those circumstances.

  I have made up my mind that I will not lose sleep over it. When and if that bridge comes (and I mean survival not Armageddon) I will cross that bridge when it is in front of me.

  I think some forethought by everyone in disaster preparedness is very beneficial. It is shocking how few actually give it a second thought.
