You will get no sympathy from me by coming on here with this kind of attitude. Get your head out of your ass and stop being a self righteous bitch. I think it's great that your parents have ignored the "shunning rule" because it is draconion and causes many to commit suicide. I take serious offense at your hatred of the downtrodden such as drug addicts and mentally defective people. The shunning policies keep these people that are suffering from getting the professional help that they need more often than not. I understand your frustrations but you need to realize that this is a CULT you are in and nothing will change till you figure this out.

JW's on Christmas Day
by Jim_TX inmy wife, my m-i-l and i were driving over to my wife's aunt's home on christmas day to celebrate christmas - which involved letting the aunt's great-great-grandkids open their presents, and eating an early supper (or late lunch).. we were on the way at around 10:30am to 11:00am to the house.
about a couple of miles away, whilst driving through the neighborhood, i spotted a couple of middle-aged young women wearing skirts down to their ankles, and carrying large handbags (aka 'bookbags').
they were between houses, and walking slowly... pioneer stroll?....

Reddit thread: I just turned 21, and Im close to committing suicide

it reminds me so much of my own feelings of hopelessness at that age.
i did the stupid thing and turned to doing copious amounts of drugs and never dealt with the problem only to be sucked back into the cult later at my lowest point of drug addiction.

* do not blame yourself it is the child that jehovah blames - parents do not care whose fault it is they just want their child not to be killed by god.
* it is ok for parents to hope their df'd child returns - was anybody really asking if that was wrong?.

So we finally got a visit from some sisters today after a year of inactivity
by thecrushed inthe wife and i were having a pleasant saturday afternoon doing a deep clean of the house when low and behold i hear the doorbell and strangely i had a strange sense that it was some witnesses or elders.
thank goodness it was only 2 sisters i know.
one is an elders wife and the other a long time pioneer and 4-5 gen jw family.

The wife and I were having a pleasant Saturday afternoon doing a deep clean of the house when low and behold I hear the doorbell and strangely I had a strange sense that It was some witnesses or elders. Thank goodness it was only 2 sisters I know. One is an elders wife and the other a long time pioneer and 4-5 Gen JW family. When I answered they asked to speak with my wife but she was no where to be found and it seemed as if she CHOSE to not hear the door ring. I made some small talk with the sisters but was careful not to invite them in. They were very confused by my happy and content appearance. I guess they expected me to be all down in the dumps.
After they left my wife comes in and I say, you just missed the 2 sisters that came to the door hun. Where were you hiding at??" She threw that in my face and said she wasn't the one hiding from the friends! She swears she never knew they were there and maybe she didn't but it seemed suspicious to me that she was just in the back loading the laundry but didn't hear our loud ass doorbell ring. The rest of the afternoon she was very pissed off and gloomy. I ignored her little pitty party and continued to be loving and conversational with her till she finally settled down with a glass of wine and settled the F*&^* down.
Am I doing the right thing by not indulging her in her pissy moods when something reminds her that she is still a JW and that her husband will have nothing to do with the religion anymore? It's uncanny how fast my day goes to shit when the Jdubs show up to encourage (guilttrip).
