  I am going to text him the link to this post. @Mikey I agree the elders have their own issues to handle. I also think it is important for no one to rely on the body of elders for encouragement! And That is interesting @Atlantis and the dubs always made it seem like shunning was reserved for baptized members.

  @mikey Did anyone ever reach out to you? Or does anyone still reach out to you? I asked because my friend he stopped attending due to depression and the elders told him to keep attending meetings and pray to jehova. He stopped attending, inactive for a year, and no one has even contacted the poor guy. He thinks they're ignoring him so that he will come back into the fold. Is this possible?

  yes, you heard right.. as you know, most christian organizations publish and distribute little tracts with their gospel message.

  well they also make some that expose the lies of the wt, and explain how it is a cult.

  even if people are not interested in the "gospel message" in these tracts, the tracts do a good job exposing the wt as a cult.. now, those of you who are now agnostic or athiests or just non-religious, please keep reading, to understand what i plan to do.... i am expecting to receive $$ for christmas.

  you have to be strong especially if you were raised in a way of life that dictated so much of who you were .

  while being raised as a jehovah's witness i was taught to follow ,unquestionally follow .i was told to put others before myself ,serve,don't stand out ,don't be independent .

  we encourage all to be examples to the flock.. jesus stated, as recorded in matt 5:29 .

  ' if, now, your right eye is making you stumble, tear it out and throw it away from you.+ for it is better for you to lose one of your members than for your whole body to be pitched into gehenna'.. we certainly do not want to stumble or, worse yet, be a stumbling block to the congregation.

  evidently jesus was stating a principle here in matthew that he intended true christians to apply to all aspects of their lives and not just their eyes.
