I'm going to guess that it will just become an extnesion. You know, lawyers know how to work the system and draw things out for a loooooog looooong time when it suits them.

Well... I got my 'invite'
by Jim_TX inas most know, it's that time of the year when the jws go out 'in force' and bang on doors trying to leave their litter-ature for the memorial - aka 'memorial invite'.. this morning (saturday), i was at the local coffee shop - which is normal for me.
my wife was at home chilling on the sofa, in her nightie.. i got a text message around 9:30-ish saying that jws had been at our house.. when i got home, my wife said she was sitting on the sofa when she heard a light 'tap tap' on the door.
we have a doorbell.

Interestingly for the first time in many years, this Saturday morning we got a knock at the door with the forced smiles of the two JWs holding the invitation. What was of interest to me was my now studying to be a JW husband's reaction when he heard the doorbelll while in his underware at the kitchen table as he said, " Oh lord, now who could THAT be?". In a ighly irritated and upset voice. I was dressed so I answerd the door with a quick and quiet with a No, no , no ( as they tend to keep talking) and pease put us on your do not call ist". If my husband had not been home how I would have loved to make a few comments to plant seeds. When my husband asked who it was I was silent for a few seconds just looking at him. His face was blank. I said it was someone with an invitation. It took a full minute for it to sink in and suddenly his demeanor changed and said " Oh" in a pleased voice.he then went to the wiindow to look out at who was walking around. I left the room and took a shower.
After about an hour I mentioned how very interesting it was at how negatively he reacted to an intrusive doorbell ring on a Ssaturday morning. I left it at that.

Hitler's and Rutherford's plan for a New World
by Lady Lee ini have mentioned this before but never quoted it so i think for many it was not really paid much attention.
but today i pulled the book off the shelf and found the quote (which i posted on another thread but i want to add a few things to the quotes.. after russell died and rutherford illegally seized the presidency of the wts he was faced with the huge problem that russell's "organization" was a rather loosely organizations that were independently controlled by the local congregations.
the society had little control of what people believed.

Hitlers followers, especially the down and dirty ones, also had a ready mde cover, the JW Wtchtower. They repent, get in, and go undercover. I just wonder how many. We know the WT will cover those they feel have repented.

How very interesting Lady Lee. I hope you don't mind but I shared your post in exjwforum on YUKU. So much research is happening and so much is ucovered. facinating and disturbing a the same time.
I wonder how many of those bible students did become JWs when Ruthorford changed the name and doctrine? It is known many left.
It is facinating to see a religion and a politician both use the same tactics of controlling people at the same time in history.

My husband MISSED the meeting today! Unheard of!
by Julia Orwell inhe decided to take me somewhere nice in the country for a day instead, and when he suggested it last night i was amazed that he would have even thought of missing the meeting!
he was one of those guys who only missed a meeting, literally, if he had a spinal injury and couldn't move!.
but, i've been sharing a little of the ttatt with him, teensy tiny bits that i can substantiate from the bible or other reputable sources.

Julia that is fantastic. His mind is doing something positive. YAY. You are a smart woman for taking it slow. When I first really did my research I bombarded my husband with it, which was quite the wrong way to go about things.

Glander and Sam,
Thank you for your concern. Yes I have support and help. It was is own father I called to help me bail him out of jail. My husband was so angry that his family knew. He has been in talk therapy, and so have I. We also have marriage therapy. I know the usual routine of the abuse esclating over time.
I do feel it was an exagerated response due to the anti depresants he had just been adjusting. His personality was so different. It was the first time, so he knows I mean business when I tell him I will call the police. He has been slowly seeing the fault lies in him, not me. So we shall see. He knows the boundry line that has been made, if it ever happens again he is out of the house. Period. I will not bail him out again.

My husband studying to be dunked, acutally commited physical violence on me earlier this year, shoving me from the door and hurting me. I called the police. He was arrested. He was mortified and blsamed it on me for weeks.
His studying has slowed down now. I bet money he has never told his book study leader about this! He is going to therapy and saw the dr to change the dosage of his antidepressants. I at first thought it was due to the medications, but he convinced me after the weeks of denying it was that, to believe him. That it was his own willful act against me because "i" did not follow his directions and just stay away from the door. ( He was potentially intoxicated from medication) . Yeah.... right....
Me, nope, never have been arrested.
