Though I was a teenager during that time I did not get the vaccine, by choice. Not to long afterwards the vaccine was halted.

These past history facts are worth considering. Even more so when the same Dr. has been both very involved, and giving such contradictory information.

For the advice to be given that a person having had covid19 needing to still wear a mask and socially distance, keeping many schools and businesses closed, is high control chaos to our own economy. ( Just as the allowing of uncontrolled immigration at our borders is chaos.) It is the setting for a perfect timing of a coup. Just read your history.

Rotator Cuff Surgery: Anybody Have Experience?

my husband is going in on tuesday to have surgery to repair a badly torn rotator cuff on his right shoulder.

he is right handed.. he's 51 and is great about exercising and staying in shape.

however, while doing push ups, his shoulder just snapped.

The important thing is that he follow the rule of not moving his arm for the required amount of time. The first days/weeks will be very painful. The pain medication should be taken on time, even if you have to wake him up. Don't wait for the pain to get bad, you have to stay on top of the pain for at least three days. Then he can wait to take the pain meds until he feels like it.

If the tendon is torn after being reattached, he may never be able to have full range of motion. Maybe that will help keep him following the Drs orders.

my soon to be ex moved out over a year ago.

he left most of his things here ( i guess he thinks of my house as his personal storage unit).

one thing he left was his survival backpack, i assume his "go bag".

I agree with those of you that his suddenly needing the go bag "right away" seems odd.

My soon to be ex moved out over a year ago. He left most of his things here ( I guess he thinks of my house as his personal storage unit). One thing he left was his survival backpack, I assume his "Go bag". He has been asking me to get it for him ( I packed that away early on in a box to get it out of my way). I thought it was in a box I put in his truck ( under protest by him each time that he had no room). Seems it was not and he has been asking regularly saying he needs it "a lot, and soon"

.I can't find it so far, and this insistence has been annoying, since he refused for over a year to get most of his things after he refused to discuss our marriage and still keep pretending this was a temporary move. It was clear after about three months of stonewalling and insulting behavior that this was not going to change. ( Property evaluation and an accountant screwing up years of taxes has hindered the progress of my filing for divorce)

I know he once again began contact with the JW but not sure if it is serious or infrequent. I don't keep up. This urgent request has me curious though. My concern is for our 16 year old daughter and her welfare around him. Her anxiety level is through the roof. She has been prepared for years through my efforts, to recognize cults, to recognize and reject when red flags show up. However, if her father is talking up gloom and doom while she is depressed, and anxious, and also now having health issues, then this could be important.

when i see polls suggesting trump has a 95% chance to lose the presidency, according to drudge report, which is now totally liberal, and i see the huge crowds of trump supporters as opposed to the 20 people showing up for biden rallies, i have to wonder what i should believe.

do i believe my lying eyes or am i totally messed up?.

LUHE, also, due to the nature of extreme hatred being carried out against people who even suggest voting for Trump, those Trump supporters who answer the polls likely either lie or refuse to submit/answer. It happened in the previous election when the Trump hate was mild compared to now.

IMHO, yep. I observe that the JW believers live in their own reality. One that is supposed to be all good and happy, regardless of REALITY. The biggest problem with them is they ignore important REAL things and totally screw up lives in the process.

Covid-19 (Coronavirus) - Status Update Thread

this topic is to focus on status updates & advice (no opinion or politics please).. status.

latest status is that it's serious, probably isn't going to be contained and most large companies are making contingency plans, cancelling large events etc... which i don't think would happen if it was just people being alarmist.

the incubation period means it may have already spread further and infected many more people than are currently known, so expect jumps in the numbers over the coming days and weeks.. tracking.

In my opinion this is done on purpose. To create dramatics, fear, and allow more control.

Lets hear, along with how many tested positive this week, how many were hospitalized with no other reason than covid? How many were already in the hospital. How many were not even sick. Those are highly important facts to go along with how many tested positive.

That being said I wouldn't want to give covid to an elderly person with lung disease, so I take logical precautions. But the testing rates are not a reason to shut down economy and cause huge numbers of people to lose employment, and even more.

Is the WT changing the 1914 teaching now?

i've been absent from the forum for about 10 months while deep into a divorce and working long hours.i heard mention in another thread about a change in 1914. is this actually being taught?

i'm very curious.

a extended non jw family member of my soon to be ex spouse finally decided to really do the deep investigation on the jw, and is in the phase of wanting to "ask the direct questions" and inform them of the facts of the jws.

This election is going to be one for the history books. Not to be missed. I am hoping my 15 year old will watch it with me. She's not too into it unless we get into a discussion about it.
