July 15th WT - WT Society Promotes " Freedom " by using Fear & Guilt

of course, freedom means a lot of different things to many different people.

however- to the wt society it means controlling it's jw members through fear and guilt to promote a " conditional " freedom - which turns out to not be freedom at all - just a manipulated socially restricted condition in which jehovah's witnesses are caged animals waiting for the next bit of " spiritual " food to be thrown to them by wt articles like this.. at the start of this article on pg.

7 in paragraph 1 it states that due to lawlessness, none of us have freedom to roam around at night, there are alarms, security systems - so the wt society infers we are all living in fear.

I feel secure in leaving my purse unattended at my UU church. And I went to a toy meetup (My Little Pony) where I had some very valuable ponies. I was secure in not watching them like a hawk. Both events were "worldly". Oh, did I mention that there's a lady at my UU church that I call Mom because my own JW mother won't talk to me? Yeah, I really miss my freedom in the (b)Org.

looks like it's fun.

there's a cool story in there about how a ministerial servant got deleted for playing violent video games, and then wrote to the branch office about it and told people in his congregation.

classy, guys, really classy.

I remember a elder giving a talk one Sunday and he himself was df'd that Wednesday. I'm so sick of hearing the "org is perfect but people aren't". Even sicker that I used to belief this.

jw is no better than the rest of the world. women don't even receive equal pay for equal work and of course there's the glass ceiling. I go to a UU church where is it so refreshing to see a woman minister.

Latest convention brochure on,,, the Governing Body

i've finally get my hands on a pdf of one of the two newly released brochures, this one entitled "who are doing jehovah's will today?".

predictably, the brochure is extremely vague on key topics.

k, finally got the d/l. So a meeting day has been dropped? it's now public talk / wt and bookstudy/theo school / service meeting? Anyone know what the bookstudy book is now? continuing to browse the brochure although I can't believe that I was so gungho for this BS in the past.

edit: I've always wondered why single sisters aren't called to do anything special. they have the bible school for single brothers and christian couples. so women are chopped liver and can't do anything without a man? Gah! this is why I'm pagan.

Had a visit from JW's yesterday.

it took almost 3 years after we quietly left our last meeting (memorial 2008) before anyone came looking for us.

after nearly 25 years raising our family in the same hall and it was as if we didn't exist anymore.. that happened about a year ago but yesterday the boys and our daughter in law were here and were all having a late breakfast and lounging around in our robes an p.j's having a nice morning.

we were sitting at the kitchen table looking out the sliding glass door at one of those summer rains where it just buckets down all of a sudden.

I've been in my present house for 3 yrs and JW only visited once. No wait, maybe 3x, each time around the Memorial.

Was There Anything You Actually Enjoyed About Being A JW?

i'm sure this question has been raised a lot but it is always good to look back.

the last 5 or 6 years of me being a jw, i did not have a very good go of it.

one thing i actually did enjoy was going to the international convention.
