i just roll my eyes around when she said that to me.

the conversation went like this.

she asked me if i have been going to the meetings?

When I began seeing the truth about "the truth", my parents thought I was experiencing a hormone imbalance due to my age (I was only 36!) and thought it was affecting my ability to reason! Seriously, they did!

I laughed so hard, LOL!

How many of you had trouble getting or keeping jobs because of JW schedule?

before i acquired a skill, i worked retail.

like many jobs that work non-traditional hours, when you apply for a job in retail or a restaurant or something, you have to tell them what hours you are available to work.

now most people looking for a job, unless they are in school or something, are available to work whenever the job requires.

When I was a witness I knew a "study" who'd been associating with th congo for several months. He'd been out of work, and was thrilled when he landed a job at the local tobaccco processing plant.

Yep.

He was forced to either quit the job, or be labelled a bad association.

Poor guy ended up with a part time minimun wage job.... but oh wasn't Jehovah so happy with him! (Ack!)

somehow when clicking on jw things, i ended up with jw news, history, etc.

I dunno, maybe it's not such a bad thing: If you attract JW's, you have a golden opportunity to post innocent questions that will make them think. I learned this accidentally. My JWOP website has buttons for people to join the Google+, Facebook, and Twitter feeds of my site. AND.... many who sign up are JW's! (I did NOT expect THAT, given my "about" info on each site!) So, I've begun to focus on open ended questions to get them thinking without being confrontational.Think about this before making a decision.

Okay, now I've viewed the videos: This isn't Donald Burney, this is the Australian version of David Koresh.

Anyone in Australia who is unaware of the David Koresh "situation", should certainly educate themselves. It's already weird that Miller looks like Koresh, but his methods and the progression of his cult are eerily similar.

Rick Ross is a terrific cult expert, I'm very glad he's on to this group.

Addendum: Koresh originated from Seventh Day Adventism.... Didn't the JW's have a similar origination?

Have you ever wondered why as Jehovah's Witnesses you ignored the inconsistencies, lies and hypocricies of the Watchtower's Governing Body for so long?

here are a few examples of what i overlooked for so long:.

1. the watchtower often praised rutherford's 1918 talk "millions now living will never die.

" however, everyone who had ever heard that talk was dead.. 2. the governing body urges the placement of the watchtower's "bible" literature with strangers.

I was a born-in, so I was fed the doctrine from day one. But, I always privately questioned the "new light" (how could God give us untrue old light??), and questioned the patting-on-the-back the Watchtower gives itself, and a few other things. And, shame of all shames, I fell into the old "wait on Jehovah" mantra.

Oh I waited alright. And then He showed me the REAL truth, LOL! THANK GOD! Although I wish I could still associate with my family members who are still in, I have never regretted my decision to abandon the Watchtower teachings.

Went to the DC with my wife.... WHY OH WHY???

so, in a tit for tat agreement with my wife to do something i wanted to do, i agreed to go with my wife for saturday and sunday to the district convention.. for most of the day, i simply read other things, paying little attention to what was going on.

my wife could care less if i am paying attention, more that i am there to wrangle little ones who are being distruptive so she can listen.. but one of the things i did catch, was that they highlighted "four satanic teachings".. one of which was that "you need a higher education to succeed in this world".

so higher education is now satanic??

The majority of jobs don't require a college degree?

Sure, like McDonald's, Burger King, Arby's, Wal-Mart....

I suppose there are trade schools out there....I wonder if the Watchtower Society is against those (after all, they AREN'T college).
