In 2005 the sum of Memorial partakers world wide numbered 8,524. The following year, in 2006, they tallied an increase to 8,758 partakers. In 2007 the number went up again to 9,105. In 2008 the number rose to 9,986. In 2010, the number of partakers grew to 11,202. And recently, it was published that the number in 2011 rose again to the tune of 11,824 partakers (Yearbook of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2006, p.31; 2007 p.31; 2008, p. 31;2009, p.31;Yearbook of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2011, p.51; Yearbook of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2012, p.55 respectively), This is an increase of exactly 3,300 partakers over seven years! (and, haven't some of the elderly ones passed away during this time?). AND...in spite of the Watchtower Society publishing these ever-increasing numbers, they have declared that the number has been decreasing over the years! (The Watchtower, February 15, 2009, pp. 27-28, para.14)

Funeral etiquette - Is crying allowed or seen as a lack of faith?
by usualusername ini have been to a few funerals and recalled that at many the cloest family members did not cry.. .
ok cultures and a number of factors may explain that, but could crying mean you don't believe in the resurrection?.
is it social compliance?.

I don't see it as a lack of faith. Just because you believe someone will be resurrected doesn't mean you aren't going to be sad that the person is currently out of your life.

Are There ANY Prophecies or Beliefs That The Witnesses Have Right In Your Opinion?
by minimus inregarding prophecy, i see nothing that they've ever been correct on.
from my understanding, they've always had to change the "truth" about the "truth".. scripturally, i can't see the logic of a godhead or a loving father eternally roasting a person who is deemed "bad".. yout thoughts, please?.

The Bible is inspired of God
Jesus is God's Son
Jesus lived in Heaven before coming to earth
Mary was a virgin when she conceived Him
Evolution is false
Jesus' death did away with the old Law
Homosexuality is a sin
Fornication is a sin
Divorce should be only due to extramarital sex
We should preach the Gospel (though it should be the REAL gospel, not their counterfeit junk)
We should meet on a regular basis for worship
Do not use idols or pray to other gods
Do not cuss
Do not smoke
Do not get drunk
Do not use recreational drugs
Jesus was not born on Christmas
The pagan origins of many modern traditions
Jesus died on a stake (not that it really matters as much as they want it to)As for prophecies.... I don't believe they've gotten any right.

Here's my take on this:
Time is only relative for the physical universe. Since God is not physical, He is not beholden to time; ergo He lives outside the stream of time. Anything outside the stream of time is eternal because it has no beginning or no end (because beginnings and ends are a time "thing"). Since we here in the physical universe have no experience with life outside of time it is impossible for us to comprehend such a situation (because people cannot comprehend that which they have no experience with).
So, it's not a matter of God coming from nothing, it's a matter of God never having a beginning in the first place. ("coming from nothing" would require a beginning, ergo a time thing).

Field Service meetings?
by JWOP ini'm just curious: since the wts did away with book studies in members homes, how does the field service meetings go now?
do people still meet in members homes, or are all fs meetings now at the kingdom hall every day?
or do they now have some other arrangement?.

Dontcha usually have about ten seconds before a grenade explodes? If that's right, then I'd opt for throwing it back out where it came from.

Yeah, I felt pretty stripped too. Everything I every believed and knew blew away in the wind in a blink -- NOW what was I supposed to do???? My identity was demolished, and it took several days before I could even begin to start thinking of a direction to go in. THANK GOD I had a supportive husband to help me through the wreckage of faith!
