  Anyone fron downunder know what happend to CO/DO Joe Seighman?

  Woah, now there is a blast from the past!

  Joe was a CO or maybe DO when I was young. Late eighties, early nineties maybe? Lovely brother, and well liked. I remember hearing years later during one of those 'I wonder what happened to X' conversations that he had 'gone apostate'. Can't offer any more than that sorry.

  A more recent defection is Doug Black. Not sure if he became apostate in the common sense of the word, but the rumour was that he got involved in extra-marital shenanigans, got disfellowshipped and was working toward becoming a police lawyer. Great guy, he was sorely missed by us young bros when he went.

  jwstudy-san, I just had a look in the elders book and there is nothing specific on it. In chapter 10.5 it talks about transporting a disfellowshipped or disassociated person to a meeting and says that if a JW transports a disfellowshipped or disassociated person to the meeting there should be no fraternizing or conversing. Sitting at the back of the hall might be an extension of this, but as Blondie said, will vary from place to place.

  Superb Hate Mail

  hi guys,.

  why do people send me silly hate mail?

  if you're going to send in hate mail, at least have the decency to use proper grammar and back up any claims with evidence.. goodness me, i thought it was just the jehovah's witnesses that sent nasty emails, now i'm getting it from their spin-off groups!.

  I really enjoy reading your blog mate. When I read this blog post earlier today, your offer to remove any information that is proven to be wrong reminded me of the Million Dollar Challenge from James Randi's foundation. They offer a million dollars to any psychic, medium or healer who can prove that their claims are true. It has been on offer for years, but no-one has taken it on yet.....

  Starting to read 1984 by Orwell

  i bought the book for a number of reasons:.

  1. it sounds brill.. 2. it sounds like the kind of people who read are rather clever and well educated (and i want to be one of them).. 3. i may find it interesting how it relates to the jws.. regarding the latter, does anyone have any thoughts and feeling on this point, or is there anything i should look out for when comparing what orwell writes about with the jws?.

  Animal Farm is an even better comparison to what life as a JW is like. The parallels, especially when you know it was written about Communism and Stalin, are very interesting.

  I guess the good thing is, if people go to YouTube, both the public and JWs, and search for "Jehovah's Witnesses" they'll have to wade through a pile of anti-JW stuff to find anything pro.

  I'm guessing it was embedded on the official site and the guy who posted it lifted the link to 'spread the word'. Naughty naughty.

  You're right Cedars, while it is simple and wouldn't have cost that much, the quality, clarity and graphics show some serious time input. If they are not from the WTS, then whoever did this has a lot of time on their hands (and lots of international friends!). Perhaps making these kinds of things is now considered 'alternative witnessing' ha ha. Hmm count your time while storyboarding, count it while filming, count it while editing. Each view on YouTube counts as a return visit. Sweeeeeeeet.
