hi joanna, my biggest craft work was building my house with my hubby, I had to do the brick work, drywall ect. we saved a ton of money by doing it.
but in my earlier years i would do all kinds, longstitch, cross-stitch,beadwork, candles whatever. I came in to the borg in my 30's so most of my Christmas crafts got thrown out. I did keep my crocheted snowflakes. I fiqured God made the snowflakes so I could still hang them up.(I didn't). after getting out of the borg this summer I went looking for them, some have yellowed a bit , i think I can get that out. I still have the instructions, if I want to make more, just need time. that was funny you talking about an early start to x-mas. I'm doing the same. one of our hardware stores had and early 75% off x-mas sale. we now have over 20 strands of lights, 4 trees and I've been buying ornaments that will have meaning ever sense I left. so i've been doing both the fall decorations as well as gathering the holiday stuff. it's fun, it's like I can't wait. my tree will have blue ornaments with the snowflakes, next year will be something else. thanks for putting up a fun post. To Spannerintheworks: you had the question about the question mark
An unknown economist in the art of writing, whom we might consider an early pioneer of shorthand, had the idea to abbreviate QUESTIO to QO. but this was not satisfactory, since it could be mistaken for the ending of a word.
Writers began to place the Q on top of the O. it did not take long for the Q to deteriorate into a squiggle and the O to contract into a dot. the question mark had finally arrived.
sorry Dutchie; just had to answer that one.

i was a vegan for a whole year while I was trying to fiqure out just what kind of health problem I had.Vegan is one who doesn't eat any dairy, or any product derived from animal. I would rather be a vegetarian though because I could at least eat a cheese pizza, try ordering one without it and see what a funny look you get from the person. Found out the cause of my ailment ( the birds in our house) and slowly went back to eating whatever. About once or twice a week I will do a no meat meal. I would like to do it more often but our boys didn't care for it to be permanant and I had to make them a regular meat meal so cooking two or three different meals wasn't fun. I feel better, when I leave out the carcass, but, there are just times when nothing beats a good steak.

*SNEEZES"...Should I say Bless You???? lol
by curiouschristy ini'm pretty sure i'm right about this.
i haven't been in the org for a long time, but it seems that whenever someone sneezes, you are not supposed to say "bless you" ///// why is this so??
i personaly don't see anything wrong w/saying bless you !

here is a few goodies I found:
To primitive man, and in biblical and Greek times,a sneeze was regarded as a sign of personal danger. Possibly because sneezing had been a frequent occurrence during the great Athenian plaque, people assumed it was the first indication that a person had a dreaded disease. The ancient Hebrews believed that when a man sneezed he was nearest to death. It was said that Jacob the Patriarch died by his first sneeze. People learned to respond to a sneeze with apprehension and the fervent wish to the sneezer that God may help and bless him and preserve his life.
Actually, fear once associated with the sneeze was world wide. Romans saw in it an evil omen.Parsees felt that the sneeze indicated the theatening presence of evil spirits.
Pope Gregory the Great is credited with having introduced the saying "God bless you" to anyone who sneezed. during his reign the Roman population was decimated by a plaque believed to have been caused by contamination of the air. This, it was thought, made people who sneezed "give up the ghost" immediately. It was then that the Pope prescribed a special form of parayer and the wish for all sneezers that God may keep from them any evil effect.
hope you enjoyed that, I prefer to say the German version. which i think, means good health to you.
