"black like me" made a big impression on me as a youth.

at the moment i don't have the wt cd program up, but when i can bring it up, i'll post some.. .

also, articles which include a paragraph here or there that are directed towards children or teens count as well.. articles that come to mind for me first are all the articles dealing with (gasp) masturbation.

and one poster here recently posted some parts from a young people ask article about dating, which was very funny.

i have been trying to wrap my head around the talk that introduced the slave as our mother?

the brothers at bethel are worried that we are not treating our spiritual mother with respect.

jehovah is our father, the faithful slave (the governing body) is our spiritual mammy.

Mother hates my music, doesnt get this whole "internet" fad, tries to tell me what music I should listen to and she doesn't approve of ANY of the girls I've dated.

I like how the mod said they are smarter than the "apostates" and how easy it was to root them out. I have been a member there for a while and I'm sure I have made a few think. My goal is to become a moderator before I REALLY have my fun.

I am a member of a pro-jw site. You can be subtle, but they are VERY quick to delete messages and accounts that are not in line with JW thinking. And they think apostates are pure evil. One poster suggested that appostates are happy over the shooting that occured this weekend. (where the hell would they get that idea?) The "mentally diseased" article must have really hit home with some of them if they think that way. I REALLY had to resist the urge to post on that.

it is not a caste system...you can move up the ranks.

One of the vice-presidents of Google is a JW, I am not sure if he is still active. He was formerly a very high up at Microsoft. He was in bethel many years ago as well. I used to know him personally, but it has been years since I spoke with him.

Awkward, but kinda funny encounter with JWs today

i live in a majority-minority neighborhood, so i get the double witness whammy of my street being worked by both spanish- and english-speaking congregations.

jws come to my door about four times a year, but i stopped answering years ago.

what's interesting is that about two years ago, they stopped knocking on my door or ringing the doorbell.

Where in the scriptures does it say that if someone speaks a language different from your congregation, even if you and the householder speak a language that you both know well, that they should DENY you the lifesaving message they offer?

If JW's believe they have the truth and deny you the message because of this made up rule, they personally, and the elders and policy-makers who enforce these rules are blood-guilty. Plain as day.

/EDIT This, to me, adds to the biggest problem I personally have with the Jehovah's Witness religion. They clearly serve a corporation, and not God, or even Jesus.
