by Derrick ingeorge bush's administration and the government is at it again, warning americans to buy among other things sheets of plastic and duct tape, select a panic room in the home, and seal every orifice to prevent biological, chemical or radioactive agents from seeping through any cracks.
nevermind that those successful enough to seal a room completely air-tight will suffocate long before they become deceased from airborne agents of warfare.

I'm sure you are aware that the great tribulation started in 1914 with the beginning of the Great War in August of that year. Or so the Watchtower taught until 1969.
Probably the same number that thought for sure after Pearl Harbor we were heading for the GT
No Pettgrudger I think that all true Christians in Dec 1941 recognized that Pearl Harbor did not mark the beginning of the Great Tribulation but merely its resumption, it having been cut short by the armistice of Nov 11, 1918. Of course they were wrong. The Great Tribulation didn't really begin until 1975.

WT's Worldwide Increase. What Does It Mean ?
by Explorer inregarding the wt's report for the period 2001 - 2002, i guess many here will agree the numbers seem to be coming back up again.
it was interesting to notice how the previous years many of the so called "developed" nations namely the u.s.a., canada, and many eu leading nations such as germany, the netherlands, britain, france, and so on actually reported decrease in their numbers.the only increase came back then from the called "under developing" nations.
this years there seems to be a very significant rebound to those negative figures.

Make believe numbers of a make believe ministry supported by organizational pretense.
This reminds me of the old saying that factory workers in the former Soviet Union had: "They pretend to pay us, so we pretend to work."
The Watchtower pretends to reward its cultist with "everlasting life," and its cultists pretend to carry on a "life-saving ministry."

One question that would make you think....
by Dawn inno jw's have been to my door for years because they all know where i live - my mom drives by with her "car group" and points out our house, even stops to use the potty or get a pop.
silly - i know, but mom doesn't seem to care about the shunning thing (thank goodness).. anyways - hubby and i have bought a new house and will be moving out of this congregation's area soon.
it's a brand new house in a new area so i'm sure it'll get worked fairly quickly (new blood on the block).

Initial Reactions-Assisting Inactive Program

there is now an official list assigned to each book-study conductor which they must follow up on.
to me the obvious intent is to jump start the inactive or to label them as bad apples.

Actually the fact that the number of annointed does not go down is in fullfillment of the bible prophecy,"Millions now living will never die." You see "living" in this scripture refers not to an individual's life span but to the life spans of an entire class of people living contemperaneously with each other. Just as when the scripture says,"this generation will by no means pass away," it means not a literal individual's passing a way but a class or group of people that will always be alive for seventy or eighty years or at least until they die but since they all won't die simultaneously than they will always be alive and therefore won't actually pass away and if they are always alive that means that the number of them will never decrease but if it actually did decrease this would prove that the bible prophecy pinpointing 1935 was indeed coming true just like the organization said it either would or wouldn't depending on light both old and new.
Don't laugh, it will probably say this in next month's WT...

While I was thinking about the Society's condemnation of being 'easy going',
I happened to pass by a church that had Jesus' words carved into it
"My load is easy and my burden is light". !!!!!!!!Jesus' comment is my wife's frequent comment as she observes my mother who is in a perpetual whirlwind of watchtower activity. I think that besides my mother's semi-shunning of me, my wife finds the frantic dub lifestyle the most distasteful part of the cult.

i was just a young child in the early 70's and something tells me i remember a long assembly, but don't remember if it was 8 days.. how long were they exactly, and what times.

I remember in Pasadena in 1963 there was a Billy Graham crusade nearby at the Los Angeles Coliseum. The dubs took great pride in besting his attendance each day. My favorite memory as a 9 year old was the day we took off to go to Disneyland! I also remember staying at the Huntington Hotel, one of the great old hotels of that day. But the best part was leaving Sunday night before Knorr was done because we had a train to catch!
