I know Geoff Unwin quite well.
He's been involved in various newspaper articles, including the Guardian Newspaper report on the Blood issue last year.
The article is written in such a way as to "Stir up" the (great)crowd.
Good to see that he is still trying to raise public awareness on these issues.
i just finished watching the wts new video - "transfusion alternative health care".
this is very sophisticated propaganda and a real piece of work.
the organization is trying to equate "blood conservation therapy" with their own irrational blood policy.

I have not seen the video, yet Knowing that the Watchtower's main concern is not about the welfare of its members but about Public.Relations, I can imagine how this blood issue is presented on the video.
It will no doubt re-assure all JWs of what a wonderful organisation they belong to, while hiding from them the real truth that they have no real foundation for their blood policy.
It lay in tatters from their own acknowledgemet that blood passes from the mother to her fetus.

I believe honesty is the best policy, with relationships.
Quantify your thouhgts by writing down the reasons why you do not want to return and then approach your mom about the subject.
By you approaching your mom rather than letting her bring the subject up, lets her know that you are serious about your decision.
Treat people as individuals, do not label them otherwise you may become the evil you seek to destroy

public talks .
here is a list of talks that was spoon fed to the congregation in 1998.. for some reason there was no talk number 100 back then.. but can you spot which talk that is missing from the list, the one that should have never been missing from the list for jws?
it is still not on the list even today.. and do you know why?
Now what is one of the most controversial subjects, that the average JW would want to avoid on the Ministry, one that raises peoples temperatures like no other?
What do the general public identify JWs with?
Yes, you got it Blood!
Would it not seem reasonable then, that such an issue as blood would be on the Public Talk list?
Of all the sacrifices that many JWs have made over this issue, and the public interest in this subject of why JWs refuse transfusions.
Yet the Watchtower is very silent when it comes to public talks on it.
The only occasion a Public talk will be heard on the subject, is when the public talk co-ordinator can unofficially twist one of the local hospital liaison members arms and get him to do the talk.
To my knowledge, the religious stand on blood and the medical issues that arise because of it are not given as a Public talk.
There may be the occasional reference to it in part of a public Talk, but no outline deals primarily with this issue.
This may of changed since I left. Maybe you can give me an update.
So that leaves the question why?
