Marry in the Lord means for them marry in the Watchtower, so it follows the Watchtower is the Lord?
Or women as a captive audience.
they do not do a good job of exploring why different people stop going to the meetings and make any improvements.. this is a quote from another topic.
it reminds me of the may 15 2012 study article about marry only in the lord, p 4 para7.
they are not trying to improve their product (the people).
Marry in the Lord means for them marry in the Watchtower, so it follows the Watchtower is the Lord?

has anyone had any first hand experiences with this?
i have googled it several times and it seems right up there with big foot and the loch ness monster.
there are stong emotional writings that describe the events of such, but few peole have very much evidence other then videos of (seemingly) random cars and such.. i ask because i was a rather involved member of the organization and have happily been god-free for 15 years.
They are stalkers, and I know this first hand unfortunately.
Even if you don't go to the meetings anymore, they very much want to know how you think and what you are up to and where.
When a series of consecutive "casual" encounters with them leave you annoyed and upset you realize that perhaps they are not so "casual".
The drama two years ago was about two elders on a mission to clear the name of a brother falsely accussed of immorality, and they acted like two detectives, checking facebook accounts, etc. This time was for a good cause, but surely they are just as diligent when gathering evidence to ditch someone.
STALKING the flock seems to be a big part of their job.
informed consent is a common phrase in medicine and related law.
the term means a patient knows all relevant facts and is mentally capable of making decisions about his or her care.
(see wikipedia.com informed consent).
Informed consent implies that you have all pertinent information before you make a decission, otherwise we are talking about a scam.
A few years ago there was no easy access to information about this organization. They just offer you a Bible study, no strings attached, they don't want to change your religion...but once you are in, strong social pressure and the use of various forms of manipulation make breaking free very difficult.
They depend on this type of control to keep people in. If witnesses enjoyed the freedom other religions that they have the cheek to criticize have, they would have no followers at all.
Individuals that scam others are dealt with as crooks, it shouldn't be any different if you are a corporation.

I remember when I was still in, the way they approach inactive ones, or even brothers/sisters from whom they want to get some sort of info is never upfront.
They are experts of the "casual" encounter (we were just passing by), indirect techniques (the elders using someone else to ask you something).
If they were honest themselves they wouldn't need to use these tactics. People that truly appreciate others can afford more sincerity. They have no right to interfere in people's lives, either the ones they FOOL and are still in, or the ones who finally free themselves from them.

The question is not Palestinian state or no Palestinian state, the question is that there is a people that has been robbed of their land, as well as all their rights in 1947 while the world chose to look the other side.
To say that the land belongs to Israel because God gave it to them is an insult to God and intelligence. If He gave them the land, He also drove them out 2000 years ago. The means by which they returned can not be supported by any decent person, namely terrorism, extortion and false flag crimes. http://www.ifamericansknew.org/history/origin.html
The promises in the Bible about Israel are referring to Spiritual Israel, the new nation of God after they rejected the Messiah.
Jews lived in Muslim countries like the Ottoman Empire for centuries without being persecuted, and they still do as well as Christians in Iran nowadays. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3BImH8d84Vo
All the propaganda in the world can not change the fact that Israel is committing crimes against humanity and sooner or later they will have to account for them. These images are very disturbing, if you have the stomach have a look at the real Israel. Who is the terrorist? http://occupiedpalestine.wordpress.com/2010/11/16/the-new-abu-ghraib/
i know about johnathan edwards and william miller being some of the forerunners of the wtbts.
how about much earlier in time?
was there a group during the middle ages or even earlier that preached something similar to the wt doctrine?
“Bible cults cannot understand the authority of Christ and his total ability to know his own and to provide for their needs single-handedly“.
Who questions that? But why should Catholics deny themselves meeting and worshiping freely with other Catholics? If somebody finds that is a personal affront to them, they have the problem, not the Church.
If somebody’s ideology is defined by attacking someone else’s religion is not worth much. Catholicism stands on its own.

Perry, facts speak for themselves. Whatever Bible you read nowadays was preserved by the Catholic Church for at least 1500 years.
The Church has a history of 2000 years, starting shortly after Jesus was alive, the WT just over a century, and in a context of a series of political movements that spread in the late XIX century, I wont even attempt to compare them. That without going into what they stand for and the effect they have in people’s lives.
Regarding the papal propaganda, how many millions of Catholics were killed only in the last couple of centuries and based on what reason?

Albigensias or Cathars were quite a radical heresy, they didn’t recognize any authority secular or Roman, the physical world was evil, and grace was nowhere to be found, pretty much as in WT world.
“My dad once told me he didn't know what Jehovah's Witnesses were for, but that they were against everything! It was an old country joke“.
This actually explains everything one needs to know about them.
“The Nazis thought JWs were Jewish spies“.
That makes more sense than the Trinity explanation.
“If you look at this sideways, it looks like a Menorah! That proves it, and there are 10 arrows, representing the 10 lost tribe of Israel! Wow the things you learn on JWD“.
The Roman Church, and what it represents is what they covet, the promised land.
People that know their identity and their history, are no so easily enslaved by others, mentally, emotionally or spiritually, much less by others that have nothing to offer in comparison with what they already have.
The Church was far too powerful to attack it upfront, therefore the need to divide it first.
There is no such thing as an organization without some sort of power structure, it would be chaotic, and those who separated from Rome always had their own hierarchies, covert and not so covert, and in some cases as with the Witnesses, far more totalitarian than the ones they shamelessly criticise.
Those who seek to undermine the moral authority of the Church, that with so much care preserved the Bible and Christ teachings throughout the centuries, do so only because they want to enforce their own authority. The question is: what is it they stand for?
both claim to be the sole path to god (or did at some point ).
both claim to reach back to first century christians ,( though jw`s are a bit ambiguous about this).
the r.c church has a pope , the j.w.`s have a governing body ,both providing spiritual food to the faithful.
First of all, without the Church we probably wouldn’t even have Jesus words today, or the Bible as we know it, or a continuous and reliable account of our history and culture during the past 2000 years. Secondly, for us as Christians it is nice to go to Church and see more than two or three people gather together and sharing our faith and values.
The Church was the ultimate authority on the Scriptures until the XV century where all the Reformation movements started, for various personal reasons (Henry VIII, Luther…). Religious and scholars in the Church were honestly seeking truth, St. Augustine, St. Thomas Aquine…. Those who separated were not always moved by honourable motives.
Closer to our day, all totalitarian regimes of the XX century have seen the Church as an obstacle. Those who seek to bring the Church down, do so only because they crave the moral authority it has for themselves.
Religions or ideologies that make a central point of their doctrine to criticize the Catholic Church would do well in having a hard look at themselves and what they stand for.
The Catholic Church is the biggest charity in the world, with hospitals, schools, missions around the world, Caritas for the poor, and they offer support and comfort to their followers without asking them to sell their souls to them...they also help everybody without asking what religion they have, while those who attack it have only their own hatred, sectarianism and self interest to show in contrast.

Jws are are a reaction to Catholicism, that despite its shortcomings, stands for something far greater than they will ever even understand.
The only similarity is that they want to usurp the central role Catholicism, for historical reasons, always had in defining Christianity and what it means to be a Christian.
Catholicism was the cradle of Christianity, (its culture, its values, its heritage), and its guardian for centuries. Jws would like to reinvent Christianity in their own image, and substitute everything the Catholic Church has built for 2000 years for whatever it is (New World Order stuff), of which a lot of us in this site had already a taste.
