Berrygerry, I'm an African. Even though i was succesfully recruited, i'm nowhere near starving. What you're saying is not only a false interpretation of statistics, but it is also in pretty bad taste.
tonight on the service meeting we discussed why jws are not false prophets.
of the ten minute part two were spent discussing that jws just had wrong expectations and only very minor changes over the years although nothing specific was mentioned.
the other eight focused on the core bible truths that have remained the same over the years.
JW's have mastered the art of having their own cake and eating it too. that's what's kept them in business up to now.
i'm not sure why i felt a need to find this site and write my story about my experiences with the jw religion.
it's been pretty far in my past, but it still had an impact, and maybe i'm just being a bit reflective, having past 40 years of age and expecting my 2nd child next year.
maybe also being reflective having just attended a catholic babtism for my wife's cousin's daughter and seeing organized religion in action again.. my mom became a jw long before i was born - she's in her 80's now.

i'd like others' thoughts on this development for me.. i was disfellowshipped seven years ago and made up my mind never to return some two years ago.
most witnesses have shunned me, of course, but there are some still in the organization who associate with me.
one of them lives in southern california and has never ceased supporting me in various ways.
He's willing to go on a trip with a disfellowshipped person? sounds like saying screw you to the borg without saying it!

i hated going from door to door.
it was really bad when the neighbors would call each other and say that we had arrived.. what pests we were!.

While an uberdub I would've never admitted this, but, hell.......I despised field service!!! worst thing, now that I think about it, is how I had to pretend i loved it. I LIED! THEY ALL LIE! it feels really really good to be honest with myself now.
