it has been at least 2 years since i posted, and for the most part, i believe, i left this site on a happy note.
i had moved on from the drama and confusion that transitioning out of being a jw and into the world meant.
i was building a happy life with my children.

Reading your update, one can see how hard you worked at becoming your own person. It does take so much more than the usual person to achieve what you have accomplished when leaving a strict controlling environment..and where you are at this time in your life- reflection can be a good thing now and then... if you loved the Bible before, it will come back to you, only in a more vibrant way... seeing things clearer, not laden down with human intervention.

For years, they said they were prophets… that has diminished however, it has been replaced by Jehovah directed them! The GB, who had not come into prominence in early their years, with a small gb.. has set themselves up as being the only ones to receive this special inspiration. in c.t.russell`s time it was supposed to have ended in the late 1880`s ,when jesus christ was supposed to have returned in 1874 ,and armageddon was to have happened in 1914 according to wt publications back then .. around about 1968/9 they amended that time frame to the year 1975 as the end of 6000 years of human history ,and they said in their publications that it would be an appropriate time for christ jesus to begin his 1000 year rule over the earth.. which would align with wt teaching that a creative day was 7,000 years long.. i think the book was "life everlasting in freedom of the sons of god " wtb&ts .
my question is : do they still talk about 6,000 of human history ?.

They use the word EON now.. no specific time frame,, at least they agree with the scientists on the time of the universe creation -- billions of years ago.

It was at an assembly- off the platform it was mentioned. I remember it and wrote it down to research it.... goes back to 1951 in QTR under The Heavenly Zion Oct 1 pgs 597-598 and Blondie brought up up to date with her answer. They use the scripture to cover it Heb 12:22-24

They put out this video that states a $60,000,00,00 payout to support halls, pubs with food, rebuilds and spiritual food however, they are a multi billion dollar enterprise now building a huge complex in Argentina by an outside company.
Most of the labour for these storm / flood rebuilds is volunteered using their own monies. Most of the halls and homes are insured with the signed off and insurance going back to the society because their houses/halls built by volunteers... cry me a river!
Yes, in the islands these poor ones need help - they needed help before and no doubt will again.. the older sister in the part last night lived in abject poverty from what I saw- where was her help before the hurricane? Yet most of the meeting was about helping those in need(locally), call those not in attendance, Show love to our older ones....yes, right at it! Does not happen ,,,,it a more money grab.
