I am now 73 and the road has been filled with wonders
by Terry ini appreciate all my friends who stop to read what i write and post.
you help me more than you know simply by being there as a sense of 'family of friends' for me to talk to and 'share' thoughts with.i guess if i didn't have stories left to tell or people to listen, i could pack it in and join elon musk in a colony on mars.january 15, 2020. .
which world is this?_________________when the doctor pulled my screaming body out of mom all those 7 decades ago, i landed in a post-wwii world.it was--compared to today's world--an alien planet.the world i live in today has nothing in common with the world in which i grew up.there were no cell phones back then--there were black telephones with a dial-tone and an operator who placed your call.everywhere you found telephone booths!

Love it!
Remember when kids going to class used their minds - poems, alphabets-back and forward, writing skills, practise, practise....
I do remember my grandmother having a PARTY line - one line carried 5 other homes and they would have a certain ringtone for their house- then everyone on the line could listen to the conversation...
Picking berries and making home jams and jellies - no get you fresh meal delivered for you to make - WoW! How crazy is that...
The first tv we had - watched the black and white sign on before the 30 minute shows started later in the day - never had tv 24 hours. Alfred Hitchcock, Ed Sullivan, wrestlin',
Looking back- things seemed so good and even though technology and science has made great strides, now we see resurgence of diseases once thought eradicated - every kid had a vaccination and took meds for polio, locally each kid had to take a cod liver oil pill every school day, supplied at school. No drugs, mom was always at home with meals, worked part time at xmas to make some money..... Skating on ponds or backyard rinks, playing hockey on the street - just hollered out -CAR", move over and wave as they passed.
Makes one just sad thinking about what has been lost...
Have a great day Terry... your only as old as you feel.

NETFLIX: "Messiah" ... all I can say is "Wow!!"
by Terry innetflix : messiah.
remember how you felt watching close encounters of the 3rd kindfor the first time?that's what i'm feeling at the end of season 1 episode 2 ofmessiah.it's not what you think it's going to be.it's not jeffrey hunter in king of kings, or mel gibson's passion of the christ, or the left behind series, or temptation of the christ, or the greatest story ever told.. this isn't a hollywood version of anything.. folks, at the end of episode 2 i'm thinking i'm watching extraordinary storytelling fresh, original, superbly acted and -best of all: no bullshit.. don't read anything about it.
don't watch previews.

Thought this was an excellent show- wrote to Netflix to bring on Season 2 - this guy is Bulgarian I think and lives the part - or so he says while filming and preparing for the part.. I have not been enamoured with some of Netflix productions, but this one is very interesting... bringing out the best and worst in each person contacting him. Killing the dog kinda shocked me, thought he was going to heal it. Wondered why he stayed in tent so long as many folks wanted him to heal their loved ones. The ending of the season - the "resurrection" of the men was interesting.. leaving a hook for more.

I notice that many of these baptized at local assemblies are youth, born ins. I would hazard a guess and say 40-50% are of that category. The 0.8 percent is usually the death rate yearly.
Still, with the "increased" great crowd, that is a poor showing for baptisms.

In days passed, we could give our own comments based on what we studied -- today, The direction is passed that a reply to the lessons have to come out of the paragraph, so people are reading the same sentences, that the reader has just completed. So boring!! To venture too far from the point they asked in the question is really not supposed to be done, although some do and it is refreshing to hear it.
They ask everyone to do research, but really dont want you to answer using that research. Mostly now, its read a scripture or parrot an answer. Of course, they society does not answer questions anymore with QTR... they feel they have touched on every subject they say and now make up their own questions to have an answer for-- and we are to go to elders to get answers. Well I have and am still waiting for clarification on several issues.

Living in the last of the last days - A new prophecy
by Listener inalthough not a new concept by the watchtower, particularly in public talks and at assemblies, they have now put this prophecy in writing.watchtower oct 2019 page 8 -13 study no.40 titled -keep busy during the last of "the last days".
the first paragraph asks '1.
what convinces us that we are living in “the last days”?

The thing that the pubs are not picking up is a buzz word- must!..... Because so much time has passed, we MUST be living in the last days! They do not know, they have NEVER KNOWN, They are no different than 5 people and I sitting around the table and discussing some aspects of the Bible and drawing out something that they can make a study lesson out of to keep pubs in a scared, believing all things, mindset' This information has been repeated almost word for word for years. The idea that all anointed will be gone off earth and then the boys of the elder school will lead - lead who? There will be pandemonium according to scripture, Where would you run to find any elder-- we do not see any at shepherding calls or receive a concerned phone call from them, even in a hurricane or blizzard situation right now.. I am sure they will be looking out for their own ass when the time comes, not ours.

New baptism contract
by resolute Bandicoot inhi all, a little while back we had a thread on the topic a new baptism contract, specifically question two, in that the "in association with gods spirit directed organisation" has been dropped.
we had two circuit level baptisms in australia since the story started getting around where the old wording was still being used and i was starting to think that it was just a rumor.. the melbourne international convention this passed weekend used the new contract, in which the claim of spirit direction is rolled back.
i would share here if i could post a mp3 file.. what will be next 1914 swept under the carpet?.

Yes they did create- a multi billion dollar empire full of loyal do bees - much like the Amway system. Get new ones in to keep the money flowing.. There is nothing more hypnotizing than the hope of everlasting life- faith and jump on the fast moving chariot.
This organization operates along the lines of Scientology - so close, so close- the only difference is they invoked God into it all and promoted the Spirit to get it done. Most people do have a "God" gene so they are easy to persuade, looking for something better.

Unpopular Opinion on Convention Protests
by Jehalapeno ini think it's really sad that people that wasted countless hours preaching for a cult are deciding to waste more hours on that same cult after leaving it.. get a hobby.
enjoy life.. "the best revenge is a life well-lived.
" - some person said this..

I believe this type of information can be cathartic to those holding the signs, they feel they are doing something to reach the attendees- and all the best to them. Many have suffered at the hands of elders, ms, co's Terrible things have been hidden for years and many have been affected by this so, for them, it is important they voice their feelings.
We cannot walk in their shoes, but empathy for what some if not most, have experienced, even if we have not.
Somehow life does go on.

BAD, BAD Christendom - the coal calling the kettle black!
by The Fall Guy inw02 12/1 p. 3 giving until it hurts - “organized religion seems to be able to survive only with sizable financial support.
(lol – aren't jw's an “organized religion, and how the hell do they survive - on marshmallows?
)..how is the necessary money to be found?...most likely you agree that giving should be part of christian worship.

Automatically, there is a dollar value on every head that cracks a door to the assemblies. This one day was in a auditorium in a school - this time, no visuals on screen, no flowers, just the table and chairs, podium and mike and sound men and equipment - cleaning done before and after, sisters did bathrooms before, after and during,
There were 1500 in attendance with 5 baptized BUT the cost was $11,000.00!!! For what? Setting up chairs - we brought own meal.
Do the math -- there had been a $12000.00 balance from last one day, but sent it to the society and left us with the money to be made up. They were $5000 short at 3 pm. Dont know if they got rest.
Great job if you can get it - not to mention the cash machines in attendance as well.

For all the changes they have made- generation, Gog of Magog, etc. - all supposedly under spirit guided inspiration, now seems that that spirit has "stopped" directing??
How can that be? Every magazine, every brochure, every teaching, every baptism, every hall dedication - all spirit directed??? It was there and now its not? Just recently, historically, all elder positions ( child abuse issues)and ms positions (child abuse issues)were supposed to be by holy spirit - not to mention Co's- some df for child abuse, Do's= now extinct.
So when did this spirit directed wording start and now ends, If ever present? Now, as the recent C A issues are showing, how did they get appointed in the first place?
