  when meghan markle says her royal wedding vows to prince harry on saturday, she’ll be following in the footsteps of princess diana and kate middleton by choosing to omit the traditional promise to “obey” her husband, the palace confirms.. during the ceremony, officiated by archbishop of canterbury justin welby, meghan will tell her royal groom: “i meghan, take you, harry, to be my husband, to have and to hold from this day forward; for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death us do part; according to god’s holy law.

  in the presence of god i make this vow.”.

  the decision doesn’t come as a surprise: meghan has long been a vocal feminist, working with organizations like one world vision to learn about the challenges facing women and girls living in dubai and mumbai.

  we are stuck in a 100 year old at least - hot( no ac) building this year. Getting it cheap as it has to be cleaned...no renovations since being built --

  and they cant afford to publish anything now?? What has happened to new light? I would say their chest pounding is causing them a heart attack with all the money they need to cover expenses regarding child abuse issues

  So we have to send the org $10- 12,000 dollars out of the fund even before the convention/assembly starts and THEN pay for the expenses??? of the three days. JOKE!

  Don't know if this was mentioned but the fact she walked part way by herself indicated she was not property to be given away by a man to another man--- loved it!! She broke the tradition of being owned...She opted instead to walk with her little bridesmaids and the Mulrooney twin boys holding her train.

  actually he said the guy shot himself in the hear to get away from OCD and upon coming to, apparently he hit the brain where the ocd occurred and was cured -- laughed as did most of the attendees. That was so inappropriate,, this guy was in a sad emotional state enough to try and kill himself and this was the best Loesch could do. He did not say "unfortunately one individual sadly tried to take his life" he just went into the story without one bit of remorse for the guy.

  And 1 John 4:16-18 God is love and how much he loves children - no mention of abuses -- and how love transcends - I guess that was for the victims

  The towards the end of the talk he mentioned something which seemed to me to be out of context that we should pray hard to Jehovah and not commit suicide.. QUESTION---are there problems they are covering up with this statement...

  Cant remember the correct wording but years ago, when Knorr was getting off the elevator --" Knorr said when the money stops, Jehovah has indicated preaching is done"??
  

  Looks like its happening.. disgusting how every meeting its about money - no different than tv preachers.... worse even as they are attaching a scripture from "Jehovah" and even saying at the end of one letter, "may Jehovah continue to bless your contributions"

  Withdrawing community support in the congs

  i've noticed in the past 10 years that the social support that used to be available in the congs, a shoulder to cry on, elders to help with family/marriage issues these seem to have been purposely withdrawn.

  counsel is even heard from the platform that the elders are not there to help people with their problems.. so first in the 80s-90s they take away the congregation get to getters and social events and now they seem to be going one step further in taking away the emotional support for people too.. this will take away an aspect that i'm sure was keeping alot of people in the borg, the community support.

  if that's not there and its just about meetings and ministry how many will start to get their emotional support elsewhere?.

  The love bombing stops when you are baptized,, oh yes, you are so happy to be in a car group,,, but if your single, a widow, a single parent, you may be helped by some, but that wears off as stress takes it tole on all. So now you are on your own... especially if your husband dies, your worldly parents are not in the picture anymore, as the truth is all in all and they now are part of the worldly ones who are destined to die at armageddon ...and the so called in the truth in laws do not see you as part of THEIR family anymore cause the husband died... your on your own.

  Bottom line -- your on your own... do not expect anything and you won't be disappointed

  Then you leave to go to a place you may not have been for years..the world... and you have to start all over again or be content to be alone.

  i was wondering if co's who get 'green handshakes' ever report their 'income' from these jw benefits?

  in the us even gifts beyond a certain amount must be reported.

  jw's like to claim how honest they are, do they report all their income?.

  Green handshakes go into a bank account and allows the then DO or CO to buy homes or apartment buildings for future revenue

  How do you deal with the loneliness after leaving?

  i'm having one of those days where i feel lonely and wish i had someone to just hang out with.

  my husband got disfellowshipped 3 years ago and even though i didn't do anything wrong i was pushed away.

  my so called "friends" decided to avoid me.

  Those feelings never leave, its a brainwash and you have to fight it each day. My son is 52, has nightmares still to this day, of armageddon - stress related anxieties he knows are from his childhood. You will hear many stories on this site about that but all each one can do is put one step ahead of the other. You need help- is there a non profit that offers help to parent caregivers in your area? Ask your doctor for a reliable centre to go to? You need respite help to allow you to go shopping or the spa for a few hours for your own sanity. Does your government provide help is such situations?
