Sorry watchtower, you can’t have it both ways.
Is ya or is ya not a clergyman?
years ago when i was a jw, one of their cornerstone teachings was that they were nothing like babylon the great.
i remember being taught that the witnesses not using any type of clergy class distinction was proof that they had the right religion.. well, recently we had this article in the local paper, and an elder who was no doubt the presiding overseer tried to use the clergy class excuse to get out of answering questions regarding a child abuse case.
here is the statement that really got to me.
Sorry watchtower, you can’t have it both ways.

perhaps not a topic for everybody... mine.. in both sp service in a foreign field in europe , the freedom and helping people to read and write in spanish .
doing a lot of work in the congregations.. in missionary-service.. helping congregations in a third-world country and see good results in family relations.
and the siestas from 13:00 to 15:00..... who has good memories of bethel?
I grew up poor and naive. I left home at 18 and like the good jw my momma raised started pioneering.
I could only hack it for about 2 years. I had trouble making my hours (90) in those days, was always sick because of a gruelling work schedule.
I wasn’t a subsidized pioneer like the ones with wealthy parents. I had to pay my own rent and buy my own car. I got tired of being made fun of because of the neighbourhood I lived in and the shitty car I drove.
A pretty dismal experience
i was wondering if co's who get 'green handshakes' ever report their 'income' from these jw benefits?
in the us even gifts beyond a certain amount must be reported.
jw's like to claim how honest they are, do they report all their income?.
Taxation is theft
i pretty much did it all.
vacation pioneered as a youngster and became a regular pioneer out of school.
i became a ms then an elder.....the organization pushes you to be somebody within the confines of their realm.
I fell off the ladder, or was it the wagon?
this is the scuttlebutt in one of the "bethel congregations" by us.. no details as to exactly what this "faith-testing" announcement might be.. anyone else hear any of this pre-zone visit hype?.
.
.
Sell everything you own and give it all to us
i am moving congregations soon and what is the best way to do it.
do you just show up in the new place and tell the elders you are new there and they will deal with it?.

it's hard to believe that they are now using the kingdom hall to sing pop songs and for dancing.
The band sounds like they didn't practice very much. I also am thinking that they chose the entertainers based on their spirituality(status) and not their musical ability.
i just got back from the district convention and watched the new video.
can't remember what it is called but the main family live in a million dollar home and there teenage daughter drives a red convertable sports car.
probably worth about 50000$.
in one scene they are going out door to door in a RICH neighbourhood. Huge houses on very large properties. And the father of the family is an engineer. Doesn't tha require a college degree? The mom is also some kind of professional And she works full time.

I don't know any jehovahs witnesses that can afford to live like this.
