  To my knowledge, the WTS has never said "you can't" or "don't" invest, it has simply cautioned that doing so carries certain risks and not to invest in a way that demonstrates greed. Sorry, this just doesn't strike me as conspiritorial or hypocritical.

  in canada the total long term investments of canadian registered charities is $14.7 billion.

  this is only long term investments and does not include cash, inventory, land and buildings etc.

  keep in mind the information is volunteered by the charity and not verified by the canada revenue agency.

  " right away this article starts drawing the line of demarcation in the sand between who has the right to make decisions within jehovah's witnesses and who does not have the right to do so.

  Flipper,

  This came up with a friend of mine that is fed up with being harassed by one of the elders. My friend still believes it is the truth but I don't know for how long. My friend told me that there needs to be some kind of recall mechanism for abusive elders if the congregation doesn't want them as elders anymore. Good luck I told her!

  In a judicial hearing does the accused have the right to face his accusers?

  You could make the threat of leagal action? JC will be haulted, branch informed, case put on hold !

  if the accused knows he/she is getting the boot maybe they should call the branch themselves and tell the branch that elder ______,_____ and _____ are not following procedure and legal counsel will be retained and local law will be called in

  in fact, i recently created a spreadsheet and documented how many hours i spent in total per week.

  As noted on your blog, the time more than doubles when you include preparation, travel and time wasted waiting on others.

  I've already wasted a whole year of my life just travelling to and attending CONventions and ASSemblies. It adds up fast!

  It is amusing when you ask them "what part did you enjoy the most?" and all you get is a blank stare.

  You will never see your accusers and seldom know who they are. Thats the standard no matter what the Society says. I've only known of a few that ever knew who accused them.

  so you're basically saying I'm screwed
