Some questions for JWstruggle's apostasy trial videos: 1) What the heck happened with your marriage? Why did your wife divorce you? 2) We are supposed to believe that one of sisters in the hall made up the whole thing about you texting her "1914 is ******"?. What had you been telling other JWs? Were you going on the offensive? 3) I personally know of a brother that was questioning teachings to other brothers in his hall (elders and non-elders). He was eventually "marked", but not DFd. What did you do to warrant them bringing you in for a committee meeting (not saying it is right)? 4) I actually feel sorry for those Elders in the video. Their minds are closed and they are taking direction from the Governing Body, not God. 5) The star chamber things GOT TO GO! Seriously! Just give the offending JW the option of either private or public trial. Let them choose. BTW: Thanks for the videos. What kind of setup did you use?

email from father in law
by outsmartthesystem ini've been a little busy recently.
but in accordance with some of you (and against the advice of many of you)....i did send my 607 research to my fil.
his response is below.

Your father-in-law actually seems like a pretty nice guy. However, he would rather deal in generalities than facts. Instead of addressing specific doctrine or beliefs, he goes back to the typical logical fallacies. For example, he mentions lies. However, instead of researching if/when the WT lied, he draws attention to churches that are worse. This is like a woman saying "My husband beats me, but not nearly as bad as my ex-husband".
Your first mistake in your response is that it is lengthy. People who need to wake up need small, thought provoking statements sent their way. In my opinion, your father-in-law is in the early stages of waking up. He needs you to send simple arguments his way, not lengthy 607BCE talk.
Best wishes and show his much love!

DF
by turtleturtle ini am having a hard time understanding why the current jw doctrine is to df a jw who associates with a df'd person.
however, the elders cannot do anything to you for hanging around df'd family, even if you admit it is not necessary and they know it.
can someone explain this?.

Tim,
Just get on with your life and leave him/her alone. There are many "Christians" that would have this attitude toward you now, not just JWs. Your friend is simply refusing to have a practicing homosexual in his circle of friends. Respect his beliefs and stop harping on his life decisions just because they make you feel uncomfortable. Move on with your life.
Wish you the best.

JWs "Encourage" Their Youth To Invest In The Full Time Ministry And Not Go To College so....
by minimus inif that's the case, ideally, we should all be preachers and never college students or college grads.
but here's the problem for those that adhere to that viewpoint: jw's should not sponsor anyone that has gone to college.
if you support such ones, it should be conscientously objectionable.

The upcoming article states that Pioneering is a protection. Really? Almost half of my spouse's pioneer school ended up disfellowshipped within 1-6 years. No joke.

I always point out that to become an Registered Nurse, you need a 4 year degree (HIGHER EDUCATION!!!).
Oh, but becoming a nurse is naughty!!!

Email from my grandmother yesterday.
by elder-schmelder inhere is an email that my grandmother sent me yesterday.. .
shawn, it's very difficult & sad to come to this decision, but because of your attitude towards the truth & us personally (thinking that we are stupid) we're going to treat you as a disfellowshipped person from now on.
actually, you're worse than them because usually they know they have not kept their oath to jehovah & don't speak abusively of the organization and don't turn apostate.

While I don't personally believe that a Christian should smoke, this is emotional/financial blackmail. If I were you, I would find a good paying career (unless you already have one) and tell your gramdma "Do what you feel is best". Don't let people use money against you!
