Birth Control
by turtleturtle ini have never understood why, according to the wt, jws are okay (conscience matter) with birth control methods like the pill, mini-pill, depo-provera, and iuds.
i am not trying to spark an abortion debate.
but i was actually angry at the wt when i started researching how the mini-pill prevented pregnancy.

I have never understood why, according to the WT, JWs are okay (conscience matter) with birth control methods like the pill, mini-pill, Depo-Provera, and IUDs. I am not trying to spark an abortion debate. But I was actually angry at the WT when I started researching how the mini-pill prevented pregnancy. Research it for yourself! My spouse and I felt betrayed by the WT because they did not provide the proper spiritual food for us at the right time. I still remember praying and asking Jehovah for forgiveness for any life that was unknowingly aborted.
So, the WT condemns those who accept a blood transfusion but make it a conscience matter to have an IUD which does the following:
The IUD is generally accepted to work by causing the uterine lining (endometrium) to become incapable of accepting the implantation of an already fertilized ovum (i.e., a human embryo).

As part of family worship last night, I pulled out the bound volumes I have been harvesting from different sources lately and showed my spouse the following quote:
Awake!1969 May 22 p.15
"If you are a young person, you also need to face the fact that you will never grow old in this present system of things. Why not? Because all the evidence in fulfillment of Bible prophecy indicates that this corrupt system is due to end in a few years. ... Therefore, as a young person, you will never fulfill any career that this system offers. If you are in highschool and thinking about a college education, it means at least four, perhaps even six or eight more years to graduate into a specialized career. But where will this system of things be by that time? It will be well on the way toward its finish, if not actually gone!"The bound volumes have a bigger impact than the CDROM. To have that quote right in front of him/her in that 1969 volume was classic awesomeness. He/she has known that I have been into "apostate" material for about a year now. He/she is an awesome spouse because of not freaking out about it! Seriously, I could start fading tommorow and, while he/she wouldn't be happy, he/she also wouldn't plan WW3 over it. I asked her/him what he/she thought the quote meant. He/she stated that it means the FDS are simply imperfect men trying their best and at that time in history, that was their best.
BTW: Im doing the whole him/her for anonymous reasons.

Also, in the first part of video part 3, JWstruggle tried to argue something along the lines of: An old brother believes his dog will be resurected, so is he apostasizing? Whoa! Big difference between your situation and his. You have likely been SPREADING and/or promoting views different from official JW views. I am also betting that this is not the first time they have talked to you (2 or more brothers), regarding "apostate" views. I highly doubt that you were having casual views with JWs that also had concerns regarding the WT teachings, and that the next thing you knew you were in a judicial committee. If I am wrong, let me know.
Remember, I am not approving of the way the WT handles committee matters.

Some questions for JWstruggle's apostasy trial videos: 1) What the heck happened with your marriage? Why did your wife divorce you? 2) We are supposed to believe that one of sisters in the hall made up the whole thing about you texting her "1914 is ******"?. What had you been telling other JWs? Were you going on the offensive? 3) I personally know of a brother that was questioning teachings to other brothers in his hall (elders and non-elders). He was eventually "marked", but not DFd. What did you do to warrant them bringing you in for a committee meeting (not saying it is right)? 4) I actually feel sorry for those Elders in the video. Their minds are closed and they are taking direction from the Governing Body, not God. 5) The star chamber things GOT TO GO! Seriously! Just give the offending JW the option of either private or public trial. Let them choose. BTW: Thanks for the videos. What kind of setup did you use?

email from father in law
by outsmartthesystem ini've been a little busy recently.
but in accordance with some of you (and against the advice of many of you)....i did send my 607 research to my fil.
his response is below.

Your father-in-law actually seems like a pretty nice guy. However, he would rather deal in generalities than facts. Instead of addressing specific doctrine or beliefs, he goes back to the typical logical fallacies. For example, he mentions lies. However, instead of researching if/when the WT lied, he draws attention to churches that are worse. This is like a woman saying "My husband beats me, but not nearly as bad as my ex-husband".
Your first mistake in your response is that it is lengthy. People who need to wake up need small, thought provoking statements sent their way. In my opinion, your father-in-law is in the early stages of waking up. He needs you to send simple arguments his way, not lengthy 607BCE talk.
Best wishes and show his much love!

DF
by turtleturtle ini am having a hard time understanding why the current jw doctrine is to df a jw who associates with a df'd person.
however, the elders cannot do anything to you for hanging around df'd family, even if you admit it is not necessary and they know it.
can someone explain this?.
