how many of you guys really believed and took to heart every word that was written in it?

i was recently rereading it and it was ridiculous how sophomoric and unrealistic some of the answers to the questions were (e.g.

when you have the urge to engage in the "sin" of masterbation you should pray to god untill the urge goes away.

I was already married when the YPA book came out so I missed out on having my parents study that one with me.(thank the Lord!!)
They did cover all the others with me more than once each.

We did the same with our kids with the addition of YPA.

That book was depressing and negative to me and I'm an adult!
I felt sorry for my daughter who was around 12-13 at the time.
I found myself dreading the family study like I did when I was a kid.

I was ready to celebrate when we got through it but realized from the study that wouldn't be proper.It would involve too much fun!

last year, in maryland, u.s.a, a man politely refused the wt and awake magazines.his younger, however asked if she could have them, and the father said that she could.the two cleaning their car and putting trash in a nearby trash container[in other words a dumpster].

concerned that the magazines might be discarded, the witness who offered them decided to return later[in other words late at night/early morning] and check the container[container is such a nice word...but in reality its called a dumpster...].

my dub sister planned this little event to see the lion king.

she invited my two other sisters and their families and purposely left me out.

when my family asked about me, she just shrugged her shoulders -- the little hypocrite couldn't "stumble" them by telling them she was shunning her own sister.

My mom is a professional SNOOP!

One day she visited my sick mother in law and saw R rated rental movies in their bedroom.She wanted to turn my father inlaw in to the elders because he was an elder.I atalked her out of it for family relations sake.

One day she was in my bedroom and was helping me change the sheets and she opened a drawer on my husbands side of the bed and found a hand gun!
She wanted to turn him in he was the PO at the time.She was very up set but I talked her out of that one too.

Another time she was in my inlaws bedroom again helping my motherinlaw pack for a move and my mom found a vibrator.
She was shocked and disgusted that they were so "perverted"!!!

Lesson,
DON'T LET MY MOTHER ANY WHERE NEAR YOUR BEDROOM!!!

if evolution is true and god doesnt exist, and all matter always existed, and life keeps adapting and getting more and more advanced, conquering all problems set before its existence.. then life should have already filled the entire universe and advanced to the point of never dying.. am i being presumptuous?.

Control religion

control religion and you control the people.

the way to control religion is to control the sacred writings.

the easiest way to control the sacred writings is to write the sacred writings and declare them inspired or divinely directed.

I feel they apply to all organized religion.

When I speak of religion I am usually refering to organized religions that have members and seek new ones.Have churches etc...

I believe a person can be very spiritual and have personal beliefs with complete freedom.
Some people would call this religion but I prefer to call it spirituality and personal belief systems.Some of these belief systems have specific names but I don't feel comfortable lumping them in with all the rest for some reason.

That may be what's happening here?
Just a difference in definitions?
Maybe I dont know what I'm talking about?

I forgot to mention that it was the B school I was assigned to.I was so mad I didn't go back there.I listened to the bro.in the front.

I didn't care what school it was in I was not going to do it.
I would have been happy to do my talk if I could have done it like the bros do.

Hey Dude!

I was a regular pioneer sister who was assigned the "Masterbation" talk out of the YPA book.

First of all I was upset at the school overseer for assigning it to a sister!We have to make a two way discussion on this when all a brother had to do is cover the material.
No real life serinos to invent for him.

Now if that wasn't bad enough the idiot assigned a 12 yr old girl to be my housholder!!!

I had always been a good little submissive sister that kept her place in the cong who always did her assignments and was never a trouble maker.

I went to the school overseer and explained why I felt it was best that a brother give the talk and also pointed out that it was inapropriate to put any young person on stage with a subject like that.

Guess what happened?
One of my fellow pioneer sisters gave the talk in my place impromtu and used my 12 yr old housholder!!
I was pissed!
I guess they showed me.
I don't understand why they insisted on doing it this way?

funny meeting story

hi guys.

as you know ive been out about a 2 years now.. i recently lent coc and the sequal to a good freind and his wife.. he happens to be an elder in my old hall who still talks to me.. well i saw him recently, and he and his missus told me they agree with every word, but at thier age .

it would kill them leaving things.. my mum told me today he did a talk at the meeting and said there were things "witnesses should know".

Shunning Or Refusing Blood - Which Is Worse?

most persons who die through lack of blood have made that choice for themselves.

the consequences of such a course of action (often death) generally have an effect which is limited primarily to the individual who is refusing treatment.. however, the victim of a decision to shun has no input into that decision.

therefore the 'victim' of shunning is a helpless recipient of that policy.

When a person accepts the teaching that the Gods word comands them to abstain from blood and to do differently would them to loose God's aproval and their everlasting life.
There is no choice or conscience in the matter.Unless you don't want to live in the new order.That threat is always hanging over your head to keep you in line.
If a person truly believes JW teaching the choice is made for them.

This is the case with many teachings that they claim we have free will or choice on.
