I’m not a whiner either, but can’t declare myself Queen since I’m married and you already took the Kings’ position.

we've all heard the bibles' explanation of how the rainbow first appeared.
now i not an expert in science but i believe rainbows have occured every since since light and moisture in the air have existed.. that would be way before the alledged global flood.. my dictionary describes a rainbow asan arch of prismatic colors found in the sky oposite the sun and caused by refraction, reflection and dispersion of light in raindrops.. my dictionary describes rain this way the condensed vapor.
of the atmosphere falling in drops.. here's watchtowers definition of rain from the insite book page 728,. a vital part of the cycle by which water that rises into the atmosphereb as vapor from land and water surface of the globe and falls to the ground.....at an early point in the history of the preparation of the earth "god had not made it rain upon the earth "but" a mist would go up from the earth and it watered the entire surface of the ground.gen2:5,6;1:9-13. hmm, sounds like rain to me.. :i welcome those of your quality of character and refusal to sink into the mire of atheism or deep cynicism, .
i found these words to be so interesting.
i have seen posts (albeit few) that discuss the bible and whether or not it is of god.
I'm with ya Julie!
I've come too these same conclusions.Like you said it's wasn't easy either. This is not what we wanted. We tried to make belief in the bible work, but found it to be like fitting a round peg in a square hole!

Waiting,
I'm sorry,I didn't mean to imply that I thought that you bought into that explanation.
Thanks for helping me to drive my point home here.
Karen,
Thanks for your input too.
I had already thought of the volcanos but not the tec. plates.

do not call list.
an ex-jw in the uk has come up with a brainwave!!.
he canvassed his local area and came up with a signed list of several thousand householders who did not wish to be called on again by jehovahs witnesses.. this list was then handed to the local congregations and the london bethel who were then obliged to list all those households as do not calls.. has anyone else tried this?
Wow,what a neat idea.
If I remember correctly we were told that the "do not calls" would be called on once a year or six months to see if that is still their wish. Also because people move.So they will still tick people off.
Could you imagine the stress this would put on the car capton, not only trying to read those terrible little maps but trying to figure which homes to call on!

Waiting,
Interesting explanation.
In this possible explanation are you saying that rainbows could have existed all along but just couldn’t be seen until the canopy or barrier was removed and sunlight could then reach the earth?
Even if this were true it still wouldn’t agree with the Bibles’ story that explains the rainbow as a miracle, gift, sign, or message from God. The Bibles’ story seems very misleading to me when the laws of science were put into motion way before the flood was supposed to have occurred.
Man can use these very laws of science to reproduce prisms of light and other things to explain this phenomenon.

having once been a public talks co-ordinator.. it was a source of bewilderment to me why no public talks were given on the subject of blood!.
of all the public talk outlines i had to assign to speakers, none were on that subject.. now considering that j.ws are known to the outside world by two things, namely door knocking and refusal of blood tranfusions.
it seemed strange that that there was not one public talk outline on that subject.. the only time we got a talk on it, was when i invited a local hospital liason elder to give a talk in our congregation.
That is strange,I had never noticed that before.
Maybe it was because the public talk is when studies and the newly interested would normally attend and they wanted to keep the controversial subjects at a minimum for them?
