Why do we see only brown-colored people in USA detention centers?
by Wonderment inwhy are for the most part brown-colored people held in detention centers?
where are the rest of illegal immigrants?i think the question is valid -- as one website noted: "the u.s. government does not maintain reliable demographics of who is in immigration detention..." (https://www.freedomforimmigrants.org/detention-statistics).
a canadian woman not too long ago said to me (spontaneously - i did not bring up the subject) the following words when she heard the live tv news broadcast, which dealt about the immigrants being held at dozens of detention centers in usa: "i am canadian, and i have been living here illegally for 29 years.

I ask you to come to a walmart un my county in NC.
Every Saturday morning 50 to 60 buses loads of illegal migrant workers go in the walmart at 10 am and shop.
They leave the fields and go shopping... just the men.
I have never seen white immigrants or black immigrants flood anywhere like this.
You only see brown immigrants because it is so many of them
For god sake the number of Hispanics in 35 years has eclipsed the NJ imber of African Americans in the country.
They are everywhere. There has been a 1200 percent increase of hispanics in many southern counties un the last 20 years. 1200 percent, let that sink in

To this day one of the biggest tools used to say that Trump is a racist is when CNN constantly says that Trump said, "Mexicans are rapist...".
They never play the whole soundbite or atleast finish the friggin sentence so people understand what he said.
There was a time not so long ago that doing something like this would cost a person their entire career and the station would issue an apology. Now it is as if there are no rules to journalism.

An annointed pioneer who killed her jehovahs witness husband. Went to jail and came back still eating the crackers.
Another sister who said she was annointed. She literally wore fishnets and micro minis to the memorial... ate crackers and left
Another brother who was previously gay. Lived in the same house with his ex-lover... one was on second floor other on first. He was a MS and died in his car in front of kingdom hall.
The weird Bethel losers... too many too mention

If You Criticize A Person of Color Are You A Racist?
by minimus inseriously, it’s getting to a point that you can’t make a negative comment about someone without being charged as a racist, homophobe or sexist!
if you criticize a female, you are obviously sexist.
if you criticize someone who happens to be gay, you must hate homosexuals.

When should you Disassociate yourself?
by happytobefree ini have been having discussion with my sister (relative), who is an active witness, about writing a letter of disassociation.
the reason being is that i have not attended the meetings in over a year and it's been 4 years since i have went out in the jw ministry.. i going to try to sum this topic up.
my sister think that i should not da myself because i have not done any immoral act in her thinking.

DA was the route I took because I did not want to be a jw anymore. If you fade you are still a JW, like it or not.
I still do not understand the "playing by their rules" tagline that is repeated over and over. Like literally who came up with the idea to attach that saying to DA'ing?
If anything I would th ink fading is playing by their rules because you are literally to scared to make a definite decision and ultimately remaining in the org

North Carolina, U.S.A. I love America. Each state is like a country within itself so I understand why some people in some states dont like it where they are.
I pay for my healthcare, I paid for school, and I wont go to jail for speaking my mind.
I am close to the mountains, close to the beach, the weather is wonderful.

I ask American citizens to look up the h2a Visa. Imagine getting paid 15 bucks an hour... no taxes paid... no housing costs... not paying for food... not paying for transportation. Meanwhile citizens are in the street getting 7.25 an hour.
Then remember that many do not get Visa yet still work for the same pay.
They get free healthcare no matter what CNN tells you and I know many that fo and openly admit it.
Middle class families cry over immigrants fleeing yet Chicago has thousands of homeless teens yet none of these people are clamoring to help them
West Virginia has thousands of impoverished children who live in conditions as bad as those in Mexico and Honduras but no one wants to adopt them...
Americans priorities are not right

I'm not being aggressive in my response, just giving background. That is the one bad aspect of message boards I guess.

ShirleyJW I was quoting a very famous song by James Brown during the civil rights struggles that said those exact words and was used at a variety of rallies to state the feeling of AFRICAN AMERICANS at the time.
When I say black people I am referring to black people who have lineage in this country dating back to slavery. I am not including immigrants and I am definitely not including brown people.
I suggest all black Americans revisit the time period in this country when those brown people refused to be classified as minorities because they viewed blacks with lineage here as beneath them. It wasnt until many in areas such as Oakland etc... realized they were still minorities whether they liked it or not.
Black issues are not the same as brown issues... period.
Many black immigrants from Africa, the Carribean etc... refused to be lumped in with native black Americans because they feel they are better and more motivated.
Ask a Jamaican in Brooklyn if they are African American and wait for the response. Ask a Nigerian what they think about African American culture and prepare for the worst.
