  So What Sort Of Dogs Are These?

  i took this pic last week on the family farm in bonnie scotland.

  her ladyship is busily munching on her toast and marmalade whilst 2 of the dogs watch and drool.. my question is this: both the dogs are top pedigree animals and weigh in at 140 pounds each.

  can you identify the breed?.

  i just had my navel pierced yesterday.

  can i just say ow?!!

  the place i chose to have it done was a little on the scary side, clean but weird!

  ab & expatbrit: Yup. Ripping navels hurts like hell, I can speak from experience. I'm scarred now, which removes a bit of the "cuteness" but I was never one to go for cute. It's a pretty big honkin' ring, not the delicate little ones that they pierce with nowadays. I mean, we *are* talking 10 years ago. Never fear, it will be coming out soon, as I plan to be pregnant in a year.

  Englishman: I admit, it can get kind of nasty if you don't keep it scrubbed. I'm a freak about cleanliness, so I never have that issue, but I know some who have... whew-wey!

  1 pierced my navel myself when I was sixteen; infected, removed.
  2 navel re-pierced by a hack; was ripped out in a mosh pit;
  3 re-re-pierced navel by a good piercer; still have it (10 years later)
  4 pierced cartilage in my right ear; hurt like hell for about a year anytime it was bumped (removed on my wedding day);
  5 pierced tongue at 21 (removed 4 months ago by dentist);
  6 tattoo at 21, right on my spine. Hurt like hell. Big-ass mofo, too!

  Were you afraid that the JW's were right?

  many posters have said that initially they had doubts and then cane to the internet to check things out.

  were any of you afraid that maybe you would find that the org was the truth ?.

  jurs: For a couple of years after I "faded away" I would seesaw back and forth between what I knew was right and what wasn't. Invariably I'd ask myself this question...

  "...but what if the Witnesses are right?"

  In otherwords, what if I die at Armageddon? What if they're right about the "road that leads to eternal life?" What if I'm making a mistake?

  But then my husband said this: "What if the Mormons are right? Or the Heaven's Gate-ers? Or the Branch Davidians? Or the Catholics?"

  Anyone could be right. But the chances of a splinter group like the JWs having "the ONLY truth" are pretty damn slim to none.

  go to the hall and face the music or stay home and watch t.v this thought went through my head when an elder asked a sister if her husband was to embarrased to sit in the hall when they made the announcement what do you think?

  Jurs: Sounds like a sister that went to a hall I used to attend. She had 4 young boys and was divorced from her loo-ser husband (who was related to my in-laws). She was pioneering (on food stamps for the boys) and was DFed after she got pregnant by some "worldly" man. Later had a baby girl; I shudder to think what happened to that little girl; the oldest boy had some weird issues, I'm inclined to think he may have abused his brothers sexually.

  I didn't go to the meeting when my DF was announced; I was there for the reinstatement announcement, and afterwards just about everyone in the hall came up to me and hugged me... made me really uncomfortable, like I hadn't existed for the past year & 1/2. One woman who had obviously not "heard" the announcement walked by and saw me chatting with several sisters and said V-E-R-Y L-O-U-D-L-Y, "I guess we're allowed to talk to you now??" I said, "Uh, yeah, I guess!"
